NLN Results....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I took my test on 1/27....I read on here some people are getting their results back in 12 days...well that's today. Does anyone who took their test that day have theirs back? How about those of you that took it just before then...are your results back yet?

I was fine this morning until I looked out my window and saw the mailbox. Then it hit me. Now I'm a NERVOUS NERVOUS NERVOUS wreck!!

Alrighty...hmmm. Well I'll be waiting on the mail truck.

LOL! Great score but I bet you kind of kicked yourself like I did for not getting a better score -

YES! absolutely yes. Prior to taking the test, I was really hoping i get 160-ish. But afterwards, I thought that the score was generous. hahahaha.

Wow. Is this the normal processing time that they have?!? Hopefully they call you before your vaca. If not, you could always talk to your network provider about their roaming/triband service so you can take calls overseas.

Wishing the best for you M. Keep us posted! :)

Thanks :)

They don't give you any idea on when to expect calls, or how long it takes the admissions committee to come to a decision. Its apply and wait. It seems like people with high NLN scores got immediate phone calls at least last year it looked that way. I dunno, this is very fustrating :(

Hi Guys!

Well as most of you know if you have read my posts, I took the NLN exam at Hunter on 3/3 and left 20 questions completely blank as I thought there were only 60 instead of 80 questions. It wasnt until I was opening up the exam booklet for the Math section that I seen the remaining 20 questions I left out! :(

Anyway, I received my scores yesterday and got a 126 composite. I did better than I thought i did, because I couldnt even focus on the exam after i realised the huge blunder i had made, and spent the remainder of the exam trying to fight back the tears. it was like my worst nightmare. The verbal is the easiest section on the whole exam and i left 20 QUESTIONS COMPLETELY BLANK!!!! I couldnt even guess shade in the bubbles as we werent even allowed to turn over the answer sheet, and there was a proctor standing beside me at all times. I ran out of there that day and cried hysterically for 2 hours.........!

Anyway, I got 94th percentile in both the Science and Math section and in the 35th percentile in the Verbal which is just so upsetting cos it seems so unfair! I dont know if Hunter has a passing standard for each section. The 35th percentile looks terrible.

The only thing I have in my advantage is that I have a 4.0 GPA, but i dont even know how much of a help that will be to me now. I feel like I just let everything slip through my fingers. Trini, SantaCruz and DoGood2u, your scores are exceptional and im so jealous. You guys did fantastic and should be so proud of yourselves.

I have dreamt about going to Hunter Nursing School and havent even applied anywhere else, and i have worked so hard to maintain a 4.0 GPA and now it doesnt even seem to matter.

Ok, Ive vented enough!!! Lol!

Best of luck to everybody! Batman, I hope and pray your scores will be everything you wanted - I have a good feeling about it! Ur a sweetheart and deserve it!

Have a great weekend everybody! :clown:

Hey Nessa

You still came out with a good score, I know you are very upset but don't be too hard on yourself, Hunter might surprise you.

Heya nessa!

Im more and more convinced that Hunter admissions operates in very mysterious ways (sent you priv. msg). So its not over for us yet until we get the decision this May! Don't lose hope.

Heres to hoping its already May! And here's to hoping HUnter does surprise us!

Nessa,

Your math and science scores rock!! I am soooo proud of you!! :thankya:

Did you call Hunter to tell them about your error on the verbal section?! If you haven't. I really think you should ASAP. Given your 4.0 and 94% on the other sections they should understand completely that you stopped at 60 which greatly affected your score. It can't hurt to alert them and explain. My guess is this won't hurt you sweetie. I am still waiting for my scores. I need to call the school on Monday. Hugs!! :nuke:

Congratz on ur score Nessa...but now I'm freaking out because I still haven't recieved my score. It seems like everyone at Hunter got their score except me!! There's even a discussion going on blackboard about the scores...:uhoh21: Where are my scores?!? And theres no mail coming in on Sunday so I'm definately calling NLN on Monday if I dont get anything by then! *sigh* I really hate this. Hey Batman did you get your scores?

If they wouldn't fix anything cause you didn't realize there was 80 instead of 60, you got a good score, can you take it again? Do they let you take it again if you passed? Dunno if you'd wanna go through that..but you got a good score and i'd give a lot to have that GPA. Good Luck

Hello all, and congratulations on your scores. I took the NLN on 3-8-07 and thought that I totally blew the science section. I am 24yrs out of high school and I don't remember much science -there were very few anatomy or micro related questions. It was unlike any test I had ever taken-when I don't know the answers, I feel like I'm going to have an aneurism (studying hard usually prevents this :wink2:). I've had a sense of dread waiting for these 16 days. There are a few young ladies in my micro class who were in the 99 percentile and were still taking the test again. Everyone else I talked to had taken it before and scored between 80 and 94% (the only other guy in my class had an 82% last time). When I opened the letter I said," Please God, let me get a 90%!) In shock I stared at a 97% -143 composite with 48 of 60 on the science! My program is based 60% on the NLN and 40% on GPA (My GPA is 3.84) with no interview at all. This is the only ADN program around here and it is very competive. I just started bawling like a baby and I don't really know why, just a release of stress I suppose. I have the shot at it that I thought I had lost. Now the wait for the letter of acceptance or lack thereof. Good luck all, and keep the faith in yourselves that I temporarily lost in myself.

Congratulations with that awesome score studently42!!!! 143 is fantastic score especially with the fact that its been 24 yrs since your high schooL!!!

Wish you the best for the ADN program your applying to!!! :)

Congratz on ur score Nessa...but now I'm freaking out because I still haven't recieved my score. It seems like everyone at Hunter got their score except me!! I didn't get mine yet either. This is getting very frustrating. I called my school last Monday and they told me to call back this Monday if I still didn't receive them. As of last week no one from my school who had taken the exam on 3/3 had gotten their scores. There were 100 of us between both testing times!!

I am going to call my school and the NLN tomorrow. My school said the NLN will charge $25 if they need to re-send them, but my school will let us come there and show I.D. to see them for free. I would rather view them in the privacy of my own home. :lol2:

Congrats studently42!! That's awesome!!
