I took my test on 1/27....I read on here some people are getting their results back in 12 days...well that's today. Does anyone who took their test that day have theirs back? How about those of you that took it just before then...are your results back yet?
I was fine this morning until I looked out my window and saw the mailbox. Then it hit me. Now I'm a NERVOUS NERVOUS NERVOUS wreck!!
Alrighty...hmmm. Well I'll be waiting on the mail truck.
Finally took this today. Verbal was pretty good, a few words I didnt know, but not many. Feel confident in that section. Math was the worse, and it wasnt because i didnt know how to do the problems, simply ran out of time. I finally went through, did the easiest ones right away and went back and did as many of the harder ones as I could. Still ended up guessing on about 6 of them due to lack of time which sucks. But they throw out twenty so lets hope they were part of that twenty. Science wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be. i went in expecting complicated physics questions and balancing chemistry equations but I didnt have any of that.
Had 1 electrical diagram question(guessed), a few on the eyes, 3 on waves, one Ohm's question, the newton question about how much a typical adult weights, some graphs, question on a isotope, food web, . It was very basic stuff, nothing crazy. I felt pretty confident about that section, but who knows, I could be feeling confident and end up with 20 out of 60, LOL. So now I play the waiting game. Results are no longer mailed, they are posted on the NLN website online. So glad I am done with this.
I got my results back today, I did AWESOME! OMG, I cant believe it! The report is a bit different now than how its shown in the book.
Verbal = # of items (60)
% correct Score (81%)
Relative Performance (92)
Math = # of items (40)
% correct Score (70%)
Relative Performance (76)
Science = # of items (60)
% correct Score (71%)
Relative Performance (91)
Composite Score of 134, 94th percentile!!! If I dont get in with that score, then it wasnt mean to be, LOL! WOOT! :yelclap::yelclap::yelclap::yelclap::yelclap:
Th science questions are really basic. I went in there expecting to have to balance chemistry equations, and do physics equations and I didnt have to. The questions asked are basic questions, the questions for the charts were really obvious from looking at the charts, forcus on knowing the terms in the science section. Know that:
1 LB = 4.45 newtons So if the question asks you how many pounds a average child or adult is, take a common weight and times it by that. For adults its usually 500 newtons. Know your food wed, isotopes (what it is, ect). I spent most of my time studying science, so I was happily surprised by how basic it was.
For math, concentrate on fractions, decimals, percentages. I memorized all the geometry equations but I only ended up using 2. The biggest problem with math is the lack of time. No matter how fast I multiplied and divided, I still wasnt fast enough and ended up guessing on 10, hence why I got a 76 for it. I am TERRIBLE at math, always have been, so for me to get a 76 was a huge accomplishment, LOL. I did every test in the book over and over, and marked the ones I did wrong, then did those repeatedly. So even though I KNEW how to do most of the problems in the section, i simply didnt have enough time. Time is your enemy here so be careful.
Verbal, if you arent a reader, the best thing you can do is memorize prefixes and suffixes. I am a book worm so I didnt study for this section at all. There were a few words I didnt know, but not many, and they were pretty basic. I scored highest in the section. You have plenty of time for it.

Firstly, I am so sorry it took me sometime to reply you back. I am so glad people like you are on here to support me. I am confidence I can pull this off. People said A&P and Chem are not classes to take in summer together but I made with high A's. I am taking micro and AP 2 this fall and I am well assured I will make it when next I seat for NLN again. Thank you so much for your concerns....Are you a student if CLC? if so, how the the program so far?
