The application for NJCU is open for both Wall and Jersey City! I thought I would make a thread for this years round of applicants. We can share our experience with NursingCAS and the HESI.
Hope y'all find this!
Hi, everyone. NursingCAS told me that because NJCU does not require full coursework entry that these applications would not be verified. I was told that verification means calculating a GPA. According to NursingCAS, only programs that require full coursework entry into the transcript entry section would be verified with GPA calculations. Those programs requiring only prerequisite entry would have the GPAs on their transcripts reported to the program.
Hi there Teacups -- Welcome!
I had entered almost all of my coursework (as that was the requirement of last year's cycle), save for one or two courses I had taken at a community college because it did not apply to the program requirements. My transcripts and application were verified and NursingCAS even included a course into my GPA that was on my transcript that I did not enter on NursingCAS. So I'm not sure what NursingCAS meant when they told you that the application won't be verified, because mine went through without a hitch!!
If this is true, it's concerning because I believe NJCU will only receive our applications if they are verified.
Please let us know if you hear anything else.
Again, welcome and best of luck!
This is the reply I received from NursingCAS a few days ago regarding verification.
"As for verification NursingCAS only verifies applications that have COMPLETE
coursework entry. Therefore since you only are required to fill out your
Prerequisites we will not verify your application. Your NursingCAS application
is considered complete for New Jersey City University."
I was also told that NJCU has access to the application already.

I took my HESI at Brookdale and they put in their Dept. ID number in. I've been on the phone with sooo many people trying to solve the matter and getting different answers. I called the nursing admissions department at NJCU and they said as long as it is in NursingCAS I should be ok ???
