The application for NJCU is open for both Wall and Jersey City! I thought I would make a thread for this years round of applicants. We can share our experience with NursingCAS and the HESI.
Hope y'all find this!

Hi. Quick question. Wall campus offers ABSN in May and Jersey City offers ABSN in September. However, the application deadline for both campuses is in February of each year? If you are not yet done with your prerequisites (will be done by May 2015), that means, you can only start to apply by October 2015 to get into the program for 2016 (either May for Wall and September for Jersey City)? Is this correct? That means, in my case, I will be only eligible to apply by October 2015?? Thank you.

That is correct according to what is posted on the website and what they will tell you when you inquire with staff. However, I will say that I was instructed by the department head of Rutgers to go ahead and apply for the spring cohort despite the fact that my prerequisites will not be done until the end of December. I'm not convinced that any school takes as hard of a line as they claim to. Best of luck!!
Hi, dnt521. It seems like I will take your suggestion and try to apply now for Fall opening in Jersey City even though I will be done by May 2015 in prerequisites. Wall is more than 1 hour away from my place so I am not so agreeable to that since I have kids. At least in your case you have only 1 month away to finish, right? I still have 4 months to go.
Thank you!

Is that true? I am finishing my prereqs in may 2015 and wanted to start rutgers in september yet they said I cant apply while taking pre reqs. Which person did you hear this from?????
According to the person I talked to in NJCU in the admissions, I can still submit the requirements even though I will only be done with my prerequisites in May 2015. In Rutgers, the admissions person told me that even with 2 subjects left, you can apply.
I attended the information session and the program coordinator stated that you must have your degree in hand and prerequisites completed to be able to be considered for a seat.

Hi everyone! As a repeat applicant to Wall (was waitlisted last year), I also attended the info session a few weeks back and the program director said that all prerequisites need to be completed for NJCU before sending in your application .
For Rutgers, you are definitely allowed to send in your application prior to completing prerequisites!
I'm taking the HESI the end of January because there are barely any spots left at the testing center I go to (Clark). So if you haven't signed up yet, I suggest doing so ASAP!!
Best of luck to everyone!
Thank you , we just follow instructions and its the A2 right ?
