U.S.A. New Jersey

The application for NJCU is open for both Wall and Jersey City! I thought I would make a thread for this years round of applicants. We can share our experience with NursingCAS and the HESI.

Hope y'all find this!

Anyone get their schedules yet for class, group? I don't remember what was said in regards to that.

I think the schedules for classes are in your Gothic account...

btw, has anyone not received their Adams Safeguard background check yet? I was going through the handbook today and it mentioned something about a August 10th deadline, or else we will be denied entry into the program??

Yeah, the schedules are on Gothic. I guess we will find out which group we are in for the Wednesday and Thursday classes. Regarding the Adams safeguard, it took about 10 days for me to receive my background check notification. You and NJCU will receive your records on the same day. I did mine back in June before orientation, so maybe it is taking longer due to people doing it at the same time? About August 10th, I don't remember hearing that. I just know that most of our documents need to be handed in before Sept 1st.

Hey, has anyone figured out which books to buy and which ones it's worth it to rent?

I think fundamentals you should buy, path you should rent. The other ones are really your call. I bought all mine just in case I need them to study for the nclex after we graduate.

I ended up renting most of mine. I have a bunch of friends who graduated from nursing school and they told me to rent if I could. They didn't really use the books after school. They tried selling and they didn't make back much money. Some I bought, like those we need access codes to. But for the most part I would rent and it was cheaper.

Also, what do most of your schedules look like? I'm getting nervous/excited!

Which ones did you buy besides the student lab Manuel for physical and health assessment and lippincott's online course?

Hi Rotko15, I am so glad to see someone that went through the program here. I just wanted to get a general sense about the program. During your experience, how many classes or clinicals were held at 7am? Or what times were the classes & clinicals? On a typical week, when did you end your days at campus? Can someone hold a part time job (that has flexible hrs) while going through the program or were there any people in your class that maybe did?

I know its 2 years later. Did you get into NJCU or any other school? Can you give me a inside look of the program in which you went through or currently doing? I applied to RU MCPHS Felican.
