The application for NJCU is open for both Wall and Jersey City! I thought I would make a thread for this years round of applicants. We can share our experience with NursingCAS and the HESI.

hey guys another question, for the hesi is there a conversion chart or do we have to memorize how many ounces are in a cup and etc..

Michelle A There are a several questions about conversions. Know your metric conversions, mm, cm, m, km ml, l, kl. Also, Fahrenheit to Celsius and ounces to milliliters or cubic centimeters are important for the test.

Hi, I have a ? about nursingcas. How do you know if they received your transcripts? and do you pay after everything is in or do you pay prior to your application being complete?

Hi, peterman.

Welcome!! -- NursingCAS will send you an e-mail stating that they have received your transcript(s). I am still unsure whether you are allowed to submit your application before your transcripts are received or not. I've tried calling NursingCAS about this multiple times and I always get the "We are experiencing a high volume of callers...please try again later" *automatic hang up*. Make sure all of your boxes say 'complete' or else NursingCAS will not let you submit! Best of luck!

Thanks for getting back to me. I am just waiting for them to receive my transcripts. I was hoping that I could submit before the application was complete so that they could work on the verification of my transcripts....but alas, I cannot. Once it is submitted you can not go back and add anything. I am working on my essay now which I am finding difficult. I rather take another test than write an essay on anything. I did find this though in the FAQ which is an answer to your question.....A: Yes. Once you have successfully filled out your online application, you can e-submit it to NursingCAS at any time. NursingCAS does not need to receive your Transcripts in order for you to submit your application although your status will not be completed until we receive and process them. So you can submit as long as that is the only thing missing but it will not be verified until they recieve them.

I am applying to NJCU's Wall campus and I was wondering if anyone could help me with the app. 2 things. Since the references are supposed to be submitted through the NursingCAS portal, what are you supposed to put in the 2 "Other" places in the Program Materials/Documents section? Also, do you need to list every single course from your undergraduate work or only the prereq courses in the Academic History/Transcript Entry section. At the bottom of the page it says "NEEDS TRANSCRIPT ENTRY FOR PREREQUISITES ONLY: To submit to these programs you will need to enter prerequisite course information only in the Transcript Entry section. Hi dcp0818 !

Your references are submitted directly to NursingCAS after your recommender completes them. Unfortunately, the application will not be "Complete"(green check mark) unless all sections are complete. If you have any additional information you'd like to add you can put it in the "Other" section, otherwise upload a blank document for the section to be marked complete.

As for transcript entry, NJCU only requires that you enter the prerequisites. (It was asked for clarification at the information session). After you submit your application to NursingCAS they will verify your GPA from your college transcript.
