Nightingale College 2021

Hello everyone !
I’m so excited that I’ve found this program ! I live in California where all nursing schools are impacted, to find a program like this is a miracle .  I am finishing up the enrollment process now . I’ve notice that there are not many posts on the site for the school . Has anyone went to the program or planning to go ?

That's great! Hopefully it's a practice no longer being done at this school. Like I said, I have no attachment to this program or strong feelings about it. I am in the same boat as you all, trying to figure out my options for LPN-RN. I just want to make sure we all are making informed decisions. If I'm gonna spend 1+ year or more studying my butt off to get my RN, I want to make sure I will actually pass the NCLEX, get licensed, and not be scammed.

No I totally get what your saying , this was deff my feelings while researching schools . I chose nightingale because it was a good fit for me , still being able to work full time and do a BSN program . The big factor I think a lot of people are missing is that this is a online program with in person clinicals. The program has the same exams style as regular programs , they use HESI. Would I recommend the program to someone with no medical experience no. Because it is online it’s literally based on what the student is putting in. When it comes to NCLEX rates especially for a school like this I feel like it’s more on the student .

I live in the state of California where RN programs are impacted and the chances of getting in are slim.

Hello, I don't know anything about the "contract" either but please look at the pass rates I posted. Isn't the most important criteria is their  pass rates? If you continue in this college,  make an appointment to review all your tests after every test without fail, develop a study group, (does your college have a student success office with qualified personnel),  ask a knowledgeable person about NCLEX study programs,  use academic services such as ATI if it is part of your program, and other practice test question guides. Study for the answers (and internalize them) that promote SAFETY. Be one of those in the top 25%

They have also only had graduates of the BSN program since 2019.... Not very much time to prove it is a solid educational program.

That is theoldest excuse in the world of higher education. I don't know about Utah, but most colleges are required by their BON to have a Director of Nursing onboard 1-2 years before the first class enters and BSN curriculums approved 1 year before the first class starts. I have participated in two new colleges and we were prepared  and had 100% pass rates the first year!

Here's is an interesting article.https://le.utah.gov/interim/2020/pdf/00002251.pdf

In Utah a school must be accredited or cannot continue to operate. That explains the closure of the ADN program.

I do not wish you anything but success with your nursing degree. I did look up the resources at your college regarding study help but there were none listed for nursing courses, only NCLEX Success. Please seek out some if you think it will be beneficial.

Teaching such a complicated subject as nursing is very hard to distill in 2 years. It is even harder to learn it in 2 years. You are paying a hefty price...demand the best resources or look for others.

londonflo- I agree, and that's what I meant by my comment. Two years does not instill confidence in me that I will receive a quality education. Personally, I need more of a proven track record.

Their BSN program has a 100% pass rate.

I finally figured what you referring to. This is from ABHS - not a nursing accreditation agency.

BSN Program

Retention Rate: 83.08%

Placement Rate: 100% (As of 04/08/2021)

NCLEX-RN® Pass Rate: 100.00% (2019-2020 ABHES year)

Good thing I had cataract surgery but I found this tidbit buried in the small print from Nightingale:

Overall Pass Rate is the percentage of graduates who took the licensure exam and

passed after any attempt.

So they are counting the students who took it the second, third, fourth time.....please keep in mind that only 30% pass after the first time, second time etc. Taken enough times you might pass. We have had graduate nurses on here who take it 6, 7, 8 times. The cost of the test plus no income for 3-5 years hurts

ABHES is not a nursing accreditation agency. It is the junk agency that accredits  all these for profit programs for federal loan funding. The college keeps this in place for when they lose any CCNE accreditation so they can keep reeling in the  tuition dollars, Their criteria for NCLEX passing is much different than the state of Utah

https://www.abhes.

I want you to have the BEST nursing education for your BSN that lets you pass NCLEX and get a job right out of the chute. Look around, there are schools that are truthful about their UTAH BON of nursing RN NCLEX scores.

I do not have a dog in this fight. I just have seen a lot of clouded truth from  for profit Florida Colleges and  similar to Nightingale...that created disappointment in the end and limited the great graduate nurses we could have across the US, who can't pass boards and still have to pay outrageous tuition.  A college would NOT BE TO BE A FOR PROFIT SCHOOL if it was legitimate.

I am not  trying to mean, not trying to say you can't go to nursing school, I just see some students who go to for-profit schools graduate with debt and no credential to work to pay off the debt.

Best wishes that you will one of the successful ones....

Hey ! I’m liking the program so far ,  it uses the same canvas program as my local college . I was looking into both programs , but ultimately decided to go with nightingale because it’s BSN and where I live that’s most jobs requirements and it was more affordable for me .The schools staff  is always helpful whenever I have questions . Also one big major plus is that California BON said the program is approved  and meets its licensure. A little update for California students  I was able to get my clinical for Nevada instead of Utah!

Cool! How do they schedule the Clinicals for you? Do they give you advance notice so you can take off work?

A very good amount of time . I reached out to them about my fall clinical schedule(we are still in Summer session)  and they gave me my fall schedule . For my clinical next month I have the actual dates and it’s only 5 days

Thanks for replying! Are you in the BSN program? Do they do ATI style testing? Are you able to work while in school? Sorry fir all the questions!

Did they give you the actual times when you asked or just the dates? I have my dates but not the times. I'm wondering if I should ask so I can know what times times to book my flights.

Is anyone on here from CA that has completely finished their BSN program through Nightingale? Was anything additional required to sit and take the NCLEX in CA? Recently spoke with a counselor, but wanting to also get first-hand information from an actual student to see their experience. Like any for-profit school, I realize that you only really get out of it what you put into it, and I view the program as the means to take the NCLEX at the end, so I’m not disillusioned into thinking this will be a “perfect” education experience either. ;)
