Nightingale College 2021

Published

Hello everyone !
I’m so excited that I’ve found this program ! I live in California where all nursing schools are impacted, to find a program like this is a miracle .  I am finishing up the enrollment process now . I’ve notice that there are not many posts on the site for the school . Has anyone went to the program or planning to go ?

Unlike other more established nursing colleges in the region, Nightingale College is not regionally accredited. Nightingale voluntarily withdrew and lost their ACEN accreditation on March 15, 2021. Inc (ACEN), formerly National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, In

Actually they voluntarily withdrew from ACEN because they no longer offer the ADN program . Nightingales BSN program is accredited by CCNE .  ACEN and CCNE are both the standard for nursing school accreditation.

Hi there, yes I’m starting August 30th!!?

Hi! I wanted to find out how the program is going and if it’s worth it to try and get into this program. I’m between going to this college and the one in Florida. Thanks for any insight!

The low NCLEX pass rate was one of three failed standards that put Nightingale on continuing accreditation with warning with ACEN

Here are the facts. Of note is this fact about ACEN:

Nightingale voluntarily withdrew and lost their ACEN accreditation on March 15, 2021.[8][32][33] Inc (ACEN), formerly National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. (NLNAC). But it has since been lost.[34]

It all started MUCH earlier:

In the Spring 2016, the official status with ACEN was "Affirm Continuing Accreditation, Change Status to Continuing Accreditation with Warning", which is explained as a "Continuing Accreditation with Warning: A measure imposed by the ACEN Board of Commissioners following the determination of non-compliance with three (3) or more Accreditation Standards. Next review and follow-up action(s) are determined by the Board of Commissioners."[35]

In September 2019, Nightingale College had a "Continuing Accreditation for Good Cause", which ACEN defines as the "nursing program has not remedied deficiencies at the conclusion of its maximum monitoring period". ACEN found that "There is a lack of evidence that the expected level of achievement for first-time test-takers during the same 12-month period on the licensure examination has been met."[36]

The low NCLEX pass rate was one of three failed standards that put Nightingale on continuing accreditation with warning with ACEN.

Quote

 the NCLEX first time pass rate is well below national accreditation benchmark of 80% at 48.65% for the second quarter of 2017 and 54.5% for the first quarter of 2017.[25] UPDATE: 3d Quarter 2019 = 46.34%, 2d Quarter 2019 = 50%, 1st Quarter 2019 = 63.38%, and overall 2018 = 53.01% [1].

Hey !
the program is pretty much what you would expect from an online program. You do the work , you get the grade . Most of the classes consist of 1 discussion post, activity , lab and quiz weekly. It’s very doable. I was looking into the school in florida as well but decided on nightingale because it’s a BSN and also they actually answer the phones and supportive .

This was for their ADN program which they don’t even have anymore. Their BSN program has a 100% pass rate.

Here's an interesting website with some apparently inside information about their shady business practices:

http://nightingale.press/index.php/Main_Page

Looks like a homemade page, but has some intriguing interviews. I don't have any opinion about this school yet, but am researching LPN-RN programs for myself, so this came across my radar. Figured I'd share

"SEAN MILLARD installed a camera in the Ogden Nightingale Nursing College boardroom for CEO Mr. Mikhail Shneyder. It was a camera that only he had the password for.

In several meetings SEAN MILLARD attended, CEO Mr. Mikhail Shneyder and Kara Harmon, Vice President, Operations and others in the Nightingale leadership discussed how they had fraudulently reported to government officials that companies had come into the testing center when no companies actually used the facilities. This was done to receive government grants and tax credits.

Nerima Pasic, Director of Academic Services explained to SEAN MILLARD that Nightingale College required students sign a two year contract. If the students dropped out of college after the first semester, Nightingale College would continue to charge the students tuition for the full two years. Employees were required to meet quotas to sign up new students who would sign the contract."

2020 - BSN 75%

4th quarter 72.22%

3rd quarter 75%

Believe me... I am sincere in wanting you to graduate from a program that has a great NCLEX and become a great nurse.. I have worked in teaching for over 40 years...this is a dismal passing rate. and numbers don't lie

Second, Third etc passing rates are usually 30%

Hello ,

I am a current student and an LVN, I work with nurses that went to this school as well. I live in the state of California where RN programs are impacted and the chances of getting in are slim. This post was intended to connect students and also to inform others of a possible opportunity to go to the next level.  From what you just posted, I have no knowledge of that not saying it didn’t happen . But I know for a fact I never signed that kind of contract or know anyone that has either .

They have also only had graduates of the BSN program since 2019.... Not very much time to prove it is a solid educational program.

That's great! Hopefully it's a practice no longer being done at this school. Like I said, I have no attachment to this program or strong feelings about it. I am in the same boat as you all, trying to figure out my options for LPN-RN. I just want to make sure we all are making informed decisions. If I'm gonna spend 1+ year or more studying my butt off to get my RN, I want to make sure I will actually pass the NCLEX, get licensed, and not be scammed. Plus, I want to feel well-prepared for patient care and be a competent nurse!
