Nightingale College 2021

Published

Hello everyone !
I’m so excited that I’ve found this program ! I live in California where all nursing schools are impacted, to find a program like this is a miracle .  I am finishing up the enrollment process now . I’ve notice that there are not many posts on the site for the school . Has anyone went to the program or planning to go ?

Hey ! I’m liking the program so far ,  it uses the same canvas program as my local college . I was looking into both programs , but ultimately decided to go with nightingale because it’s BSN and where I live that’s most jobs requirements and it was more affordable for me .The schools staff  is always helpful whenever I have questions . Also one big major plus is that California BON said the program is approved  and meets its licensure. A little update for California students  I was able to get my clinical for Nevada instead of Utah!

hey! how were you able to get your clinical in neveada???

That’s great! Are you able to Las Vegas or the Reno one that is suppose to be opening up?

How do you like the school since you started? Thanks

Is anyone where currently doing clinicals or have finished the program? I am from Sacramento and would like to know if this program is doable and worth the $$.

I know someone who finished, but she is waiting for the Final preceptorship.

She needs a final preceptorship but did all her clinicals already or she has to do her clinicals still?

All her clinicals are done. Final Preceptorship is one of the requirements for BSN. That’s the only thing she’s missing and its more on management staff..

Specializes in Wellness Nurse in Assisted Living.

What is needed for the final preceptorship, and has management given her a timeframe as to when they will help her with this?

Specializes in oncology.

Is this the kind of thing where the student needs a preceptor who sponsors the student from the good of their own heart, while the tuition goes to the college and the preceptor gets the pressure to pass the student if they show up on time for clinicals or not at all. The papers submitted have problems with grammar, source citation or the conclusions come out out if thin air? I am all in favor for helping students pass but when my hand gets slapped when making suggestions to improve papers to college level writing and told "the students has to work a traveler job so far from home, is a fulltime student and has a family..." and needs special consideration. My current students have a family, work PT or FT and are going to school FT--never miss an assignment (great grammar and APA citation included)  and 100% attendance for class and clinical. We are not a for-profit program and I will never sponsor another for-profit program student who thought she deserved special consideration. Not all for-profit students expect to be treated specially but I will never get involved with these programs again....Now  in 2021 these students looking for preceptors wonder why they cannot find a clinical learning position....look at the burned bridges left behind by previous students and the  for-profit university faculty who pressured it to happen.

Hi,

Me and my co-workers might apply to this school next year. We are all from Sacramento too. We don't have any pre-requisite. So we have to start from basic. Can you tell me how long it will take to finish program include pre-requisite and how much it is? What are the entrance exam and once we finish our pre-requisite, do they give us another test to enter into program? Thank you.
