A pt's family came in on day shift and demanded to know the name of the person that had taken the time to care for the mom the last couple of days because she was soooooo happy about the care... Well the family was there when my shift came in this afternoon and the lady comes rolling up and kicks me in the leg and then hugs me and tells her family "This is my Pest that takes such good care of me" they all started laughing....
In also get called Irish girl, by all my Irish pt's
the hunter of my unit calls me Spook!!
What do your pt's call you guys?:trout:
I've been called plenty of names...the bad ones always from some confused little old cutie that doesn't want their rear cleaned :) I think my favorite from a not-so-happy pt was "YOU'RE A MENACE TO SOCIETY!!!!!"
I get good names too, most often being 'mija' which is spanish for daughter. I always know I must be doing a good job with my spanish-speaking patients when they or someone in their family refers to me as 'mija'. It's one of the many things I love about going to work :) (Wow, I could be Mrs. Rogers, haha)
Was called Mary Sunshine - I am not a morning person and this kind pt understood (she wasn't either). She never remembered my name, just called me Mary Sunshine.
One pt called me "eyes" because my eyes are big and dark dark blue(really, they're navy blue). Another pt called me red due to my hair color(that was when it was natural, now I'm brunette).
I've also (to my embarrassment) been called Angel by a pt. I'm happy I made him happy, but I don't like being center of attention. He told everyone of his Angel.
I love alzheimer's residents, and so whatever comes out of there mouth I answer too... these are just a few...
Keep in mid my name is kristi
Gracie, lucy, shelly, cili, Big girl, blondie, nurse, miss, mija, julie, and the all famous words that can sometimes/often come out of their mouths that i am not allowed to write here.

Just last week my patient called me "kiddo", I was very flattered since I was still dealing with just having my 41th b-day!
