News Flash Everybody Farts!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I have read a couple of posts lately where people are complaining about people farting breaking wind, passing gas etc...

What exactly is the big deal? The average person farts 14 to 20 times a day and if you say you don't fart you're either lying or you are an alien species.

Yes it can be gross and smell bad but it's like poop it just happens sometimes.

My favorite time to fart is when I'm in triage and a PITA frequent flyer is in the hot seat. EEENNNJJOOOY!!!

Geezus... Are you people for real?... Lmao. I don't think it's funny or appropriate, but I'm starting to chuckle at how many of you think this is just a joyous occasion to be shared by all. [emoji13]

No, we are playing with the bait. Big difference.

Oh we will.attachment.php?attachmentid=21051&stc=1 Here's my sweet smeller for today, but boy did I ever let em rip wafter I went to bed last night, and I had no clue it was going to happen. I even burped a few times. I had some pea soup with fish last night for supper. Maybe that was the culprit. I sure got up tired though this morning. :)

Why would someone not be able to help it? Are they incontinent or something? Having an accident every once in a while is excusable, but why would someone routinely not be able to control expelling bowel contents?

Do they have some kind of bowel-related variant of restless leg syndrome, maybe "restless colon syndrome?" Where you spontaneously crap your pants in public? Is that what's going on?

As I have said - had extensive colorectal surgery. 18 inches in total from coon and small intestine. Under physicians orders to eat lots of fiber daily to keep the system working smoothly. Also told by said physician that it is unhealthy to hold them in. I usually always try to step outside or into ladies

room but can't always make it. You obviously have never met a person with a Rectal Fistula or other such problem but I guarantee you will.

On a side note I am glad this post was mostly taken lightly and provided everyone with some entertainment :cheeky:

This thread simply cannot die. So many days I've needed a good laugh, and this thread never disappoints.
