I have applied to Nassau Community College's Nursing Program for the third and final time. I have been declined two other times and if I get denied a third time I will not apply again. It is getting a little embarrassing that I keep on getting declined.

Their lose is another school's gain...

I also just got my letter. The interview is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 9:00am. Anyone that has gone through the process please post on what it was like. What was the essay topic? Are the vocabulary words written or part of the oral interview? Please give as many details as you can!

ok now I can legitimately post on this thread haha. Received my letter today from NCC stating I was "tentatively accepted pending an interview." Does anyone have any information on this interview thing? My interview is scheduled for May 18th at 11:00am. Anyone get a letter or know anything?!?!

hi if you dont mind me asking with what gpa did u get into the nursing program at ncc .

hey kelly11101,

when i applied to NCC i believe my gpa was around a 3.7-8

the grades i received were a&p1 - B+, a&p2 - A, psy - A, mat - B+, for the core classes and A's in electives i took. i was rejected for the spring 08 semester.

i had those same grades when i applied to farmingdale and i received a 129 on the nursing pre exam.

hope this helps!

How could a school have a wait list of 2 - 4 yrs? There's no way they could foresee the pool of applicants that far in advance.

how could a school have a wait list of 2 - 4 yrs? there's no way they could foresee the pool of applicants that far in advance.

let’s say that admit 30 students admitted each semester. if there is 120 applications that would cause an estimated one year wait. if the following semester 60 more applications are submitted then this would add an additional semester wait. the more the applications stack up the longer the “estimated” wait is. basically it’s an estimated guess based on the average amount of applications they get per semester.

I dont mean to call you out but thats not a wait list. If the pool of applicants is becoming increasingly competitive then there is no wait time for an individual. They just wouldnt make the cut.

it's a first come first serve bases, sorry if you don’t want to hear that. it has nothing to do with the making the cut. when the amount of applications exceeds a certain number then they create a waiting list so that students don’t have to reapply every semester.

deadlines: the deadlines listed below are for general admission. certain programs have earlier deadlines which are listed on the program and admissions requirements chart. completed applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. please note that if a deadline falls on a weekend, applications and all supporting credentials are accepted through the following monday.

Its not a matter of not wanting to hear it, it's just incorrect. That isn't what a wait list is. Thats what I was trying to clarify.

Hi everyone! I JUST applied this week for September! Has anyone else? I hope I get in. I was not planning on applying until next September but I just lost my job and I figured now was the best time to do this. I have completed the following pre-reqs:

English 101

English 102

Psychology 101

Childhood Development

Statistics

Anatomy & Physiology 1

I am planning on taking A&P2 this semester which starts next week and Micro and Sociology hopefully in the summer. So far I have A's in all the classes I've taken but I am worried because I live in Queens and I heard that they look at Nassau students first, is this true?

Hi Kuklara,

I just got accepted into NCC and start next week. I also heard that Nassau county residents get an extra point in the method that they use to evaluate applications. But they accept more apps for September than in January and you have all A's so I think you should still have a good shot. Good Luck! I thought they didn't accept applications until March for September admission.

I believe the deadline is in March. I already submitted my application
