Has anyone taken the latest version, the TEAS V? My test is coming up April 6. I have the ATI version V study guide, and the McGraw Hill book.
What should I be sure to study when it comes to the latest version of the test?
good job mom2three3 and thanks on the tips. since you did really good on your test can you please help with mine ? (im taking it in 3 weeks) ...... here is my email address [email protected]
thanks
I keep seeing eveyone saying the science is hard. Do you recommend anyone study method over another for it? I will have the ATI Teas V guide, McGraw Hill, and the Kaplan for nurses books. I'm scared to death b/c I've been working just this evening on the testprepreview.com TEAS self assesments, and it took me about 5 hours just to get through about 5 of the algebra/math sections!! I'm going to bomb! I didn't score over 60% on the algebra stuff, but got 70% on the arithmatic and regular math. I"m scared to death becasue my science skills are even worse! I'm applying for Ivy Tech for the fall semster, and if I take this twice before April 1st and don't get anything better than average, I can't take it again for two years! I won't be a nurse if that's the case.
I graduated Ivy Tech with a Business degree and earned honors during my program, but I don't know if I can accomplish all of the necessary reveiw i need by 12/27 when I take my 1st test. So science and math/algebra will be my main focus.
Any study tips WOULD BE GREATLY appreciated! And good luck to anyone taking this test in the future!
So excited! I got my A&P Book today - yea! & my TEAS study guide, and was so happy to see when I opened it that it gives a break down of the content that's on the test. So I kind of have my own answers to my questions on the Science part, however I have seen a lot of people saying that the study guide isn't very good to use for the Science preperation?? So after looking at this, I was wondering if I should still use another source (like the McGraw Hill or Kaplan book) What do you think???? Any suggestions welcome....lol
I used the McGraw book and found that it was very useful in preparing for the TEAS V. For the math section I believe that the ATI book is spot on with the level of difficulty for the questions I saw on my TEAS exam, McGraw was a little bit more difficult, but if you can do the McGraw then you are definitely prepared for the TEAS. For the sciences both books really helped me.
Remember it is not only the content but also remember to time yourself when you take the practice exams.

Does anybody know what website to use to order the TEAS V study guide for TWU? I have to take it this January of 2011.
The McGraw Book is the McGraw Hill Nursing Entrance Exams (just ordered it last week). After studying the ATI guide this last week, I can actually say I'm very glad i got the Kapalan book for Nursing Exams as well. (Haven't received my McGraw Hill book in the mail yet). It covers the same content as the ATI guide, but to me personally, it makes much more sense and starts out in a structure that I can understand better. I'm good on both reading, english and language. so my main focus is going to be the Science and Math. I'm studying everyday and still feel like I just don't know enough, and am having trouble retaining all of it. Not sure what I need to change, but I have to change something. Taking my test on January 7th, so only a couple more weeks. Hopefully I'll pass b/c I really really want to do this program! Good luck to everyone!
y'all are making me very nervous...How much chemistry is on this test? I am soooo nervous. I take january 6 at 10am
I take mine Jan, 7 @ 1:00pm - Good luck! I've been looking for someone to study w/if you (or anyone else) are too. I'm just not retaining any of it all on my own w/out at least bouncing info off of someone else. Very nervous here too! I havent had a science class in 9 or so years lol

I took the TEAS V a week ago and scored very high. All I used was the ATI study manual, and the occasional glance at the McGraw Hill book's science section. What I did was take the first test in the ATI book as a diagnostic to see what exactly I needed to brush up on and I studied that. Then I studied for a couple of weeks and then took the 2nd test under timed conditions. Then a week or so later I bought one of the online practice tests for $35, which at the end gives you a score report and a guide on what to study. I did not waste my time studying stuff I already know. Targeting your studying to stuff you need to know is what is key. I prepared for about a month MAX, I felt it is all I needed.
The science portion had no geology type questions as people say in prior versions. I had an even spread of questions in different sciences, but I seem to remember chemistry ones more. I remember having 2 balancing equation questions, so be sure to brush up on that!
The ATI study guide was VERY useful for me in preparing for the TEAS V and familiarizing me with the question types. It was definitely worth getting.
