New to Site! Hello~

:balloons: Hello all...just found this site as I was researching nursing on the Internet. I am a stay at home Mom of two girls ages 5 and 9. I am ready to start back to school since my youngest starts all day Kindergarten this August. Am really interested in Labor and Delivery nursing and have now thought alot about Neo-natal nursing. Absolutely love babies and think would be a rewarding career. I am making an appt with school advisor to help me where to start as I was in college for about 2 years before marriage and children interrupted me! Looking forward to gaining lots of insight and information from the wonderful nurses at this site! Kim

Welcome Kim!

I am a SAHM to 2 kidlets, my DD, 7 and my DS 2 1/2. I am slowly taking pre reqs to start NS. Probably won't get to cliniclas until my little guy is near Kindergraten. I also am interested in NICU. I suggest reading all the posts at the beginning and the sites mentioned too, it helped me a lot. I look forward to hearing about your experiences, I am wondering about the transition from SAHM and all it entails, to full-time student!

Hi Jen!! Thanks for the reply. Good to meet you. Maybe we can enjoy our journey to nursing together online! I am eagerly awaiting the start of school on Aug. 15th so my soon-to-be 4th grader and soon-to-be All-Day Kindergartener can get busy and stop saying "MOM!! We are bored! What can you provide for us to do now??" I swear summer is waaaayyy too long! I start some online classes in Sept. at a local university here and am going to a seminar next Thurs. the 11th at UNMC to learn more about what I need to do to reach my goal. Really excited about that! Hope all is well where you are! Kim
