I passed recently, last week. I did the PVT, it worked for me. I found a site with a good guide about it, and all credit goes to them, but I will just paraphrase it a bit. I have done it for myself and another person who did not pass. We both took it on the same day, and checked with PVT 48+ hours after to see if one of us passed. I got the good pop up, she didn't. Come posting of licenses, I passed, and she didn't. Accurate 2/2
One tip I can give myself, is to not use a credit or debit card, cause you might get negged 200 dollars. Instead, use an empty, but unexpired visa gift card. Myself? I didn't have a gift card, but a quick Google search for "free empty visa gift card" turns up a ton of results, and I just used one of theirs, the online community is great when it comes to things like that.
On to the trick.
Wait 24 hours after the exam, because as some have said, they grade the exam twice. Once right after, and another by hand within 24 hours. If your palm thing didn't work, or you are suspected of cheating, expect to wait longer.
Basically, go to Pearson Vue and reregister. Make it all the way to the credit card info part. Input a card that is real (Don't just put random numbers)(I recommend an empty but valid Visa gift card). Hit submit, takes you to a confirmation page, then hit submit again.
There are THREE outcomes to this Pass, Undecided, Fail. In order here they come.
1) If you get a message that shows a red triangle like this.
"Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time."
^^^Means that you PASSED.
2) Second possible outcome. This one is a neutral. Not definite you passed, not definite you failed. You are stuck in between, because they haven't finished grading your stuff yet, or its up for review because of a problem. Often times, people mistaken this as pass, and find out later they failed. Just try again in a few hours or days.
"The candidate currently has an open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time."
^^^Means a UNDECIDED pass or fail.
3) If you did it my way, with an empty Visa gift card, then this one means you failed, because the payment would have gone through if your card had the funds. Sorry if you get this one, don't lose heart.
"The payment was declined. Reason: Contact your credit card company or use a different credit card."
^^^ Means you FAILED, because it declined your money.
If you don't get these messages, then make sure you input the credit card info and on that page hit submit. It takes you to a 2nd confirmation page, hit submit again. The page that you should be on will have one of those above THREE outcomes.
Hope this helps people who are confused. By the way, Philippine graduate, 1 shot the NCLEX-RN.
Admin, I read the TOS, I don't think any of this should violate TOS, but do let me know which part I can edit out if it does.

Ok I was desperate. I took my RN boards today and I have been beyond stressed all day. Got the full 265 questions. I wanted to do the PVT but I can not afford to pay to take the exam yet I read that a old credit card would not work, but then I got another idea! I used a prepaid/valid debit card thait. I went to the very end and hit submit as if I was going to be charged. According to my searching I got the good pop up. I pray they are correct because I may not sleep the next 2 days!!

COOL! Congrats! I did my PVT before like May 2013 to be exact, i had the old way tho but it's legit. good pop up passed then bad pop up failed, something like that! :)
btw, regarding to wait for 24 hours? what if it says in pearson vue account "delivery successful"
is it okay to do the pv trick that moment? :) ty
The 24 hours is to give it time to process. Not saying that it could finish earlier, or later than 24 hours, but it can happen. What exactly did you do to get a delivery successful message?

Hello and congratulations on passing! thank you so much for this post as i have recently taken the NCLEX PN on December 5th. I am in Cali, so no quick results for us. i have gotten the good pop up and am hopeful that i did indeed pass. still very nervous though. thanks again and i'm certain you'll have a very happy holiday!

Delivery successful is no longer a message as of August 2014. The results available/unavailable is referring to quick results as applicable. So in CA it will always say results unavailable as CA does not participate in quick results.
The test is scored twice hence why it is strongly suggested you not attempt the "PV trick" until at least after 24 hours. Several have been charged and later passed and vice versa. The old PVT was somewhat reliable. After 8/2014 it's not as reliable. If you are charged and passed there are no refunds. If you think you passed there are other reasons you could get the first pop up in the OP such as you failed a third time and BoN mandates completing a refresher course before you may test again

The trick worked for me. Finally, after taking my RN exam for the fourth time, found out I passed today. Took the exam yesterday, shut off at 82 questions. Did the old PVT trick and thought for sure I had failed since it went to the CC page. Came home found out about the new one. Tried it with an empty Visa Green Dot card. Got the good pop up. Couldn't believe my eyes, so I decided to check the BON and lo and behold those two simple yet beautiful letters RN were beside my name. I'm on Cloud 9.

Mine shows : The candidate currently has an open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time."
I do not have "successful delivery", and its more than 48 hours. Im freaking out. anyone's same boat?
Congratulations to everyone that passed.
As for Buspar, give it a few more hours or a day, then try again, because you got the neutral pop up. (Not a Pass, Not a Fail.)
How long has it been since you tested?
Thanks Op, why everyone got the status after the test just couple hours , mine is more than 24hr.... I'm so freaking out .. Hix
Did you have a palm scan problem? Did you do it quite late? Power outages in your area?
Honestly, it could be for any reason, maybe they're back logged, maybe a ton of people took the exam that day, just give it time, relax. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
CONGRATS!!!
