NEW PVT Guide (December 2014)

Nursing Students NCLEX

I passed recently, last week. I did the PVT, it worked for me. I found a site with a good guide about it, and all credit goes to them, but I will just paraphrase it a bit. I have done it for myself and another person who did not pass. We both took it on the same day, and checked with PVT 48+ hours after to see if one of us passed. I got the good pop up, she didn't. Come posting of licenses, I passed, and she didn't. Accurate 2/2

One tip I can give myself, is to not use a credit or debit card, cause you might get negged 200 dollars. Instead, use an empty, but unexpired visa gift card. Myself? I didn't have a gift card, but a quick Google search for "free empty visa gift card" turns up a ton of results, and I just used one of theirs, the online community is great when it comes to things like that.

On to the trick.

Wait 24 hours after the exam, because as some have said, they grade the exam twice. Once right after, and another by hand within 24 hours. If your palm thing didn't work, or you are suspected of cheating, expect to wait longer.

Basically, go to Pearson Vue and reregister. Make it all the way to the credit card info part. Input a card that is real (Don't just put random numbers)(I recommend an empty but valid Visa gift card). Hit submit, takes you to a confirmation page, then hit submit again.

There are THREE outcomes to this Pass, Undecided, Fail. In order here they come.

1) If you get a message that shows a red triangle like this.

"Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time."

^^^Means that you PASSED.

2) Second possible outcome. This one is a neutral. Not definite you passed, not definite you failed. You are stuck in between, because they haven't finished grading your stuff yet, or its up for review because of a problem. Often times, people mistaken this as pass, and find out later they failed. Just try again in a few hours or days.

"The candidate currently has an open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time."

^^^Means a UNDECIDED pass or fail.

3) If you did it my way, with an empty Visa gift card, then this one means you failed, because the payment would have gone through if your card had the funds. Sorry if you get this one, don't lose heart.

"The payment was declined. Reason: Contact your credit card company or use a different credit card."

^^^ Means you FAILED, because it declined your money.

If you don't get these messages, then make sure you input the credit card info and on that page hit submit. It takes you to a 2nd confirmation page, hit submit again. The page that you should be on will have one of those above THREE outcomes.

Hope this helps people who are confused. By the way, Philippine graduate, 1 shot the NCLEX-RN.

Admin, I read the TOS, I don't think any of this should violate TOS, but do let me know which part I can edit out if it does.

this is really helpful. Thank you!!
