I know the feeling. I worry about the same thing. I finally decided to just keep my notes and sell the book back. EXCEPT chemistry. I used the heck out of that thing, and decided to keep it.

Maybe you could rent a storage unit for your books?:chuckle

Wow that sounds like a lot of reading. I'm starting a BSN program in the fall--no summer reading assignments yet, but you never know. I don't have orientation until August. I kinda wish had a little bit of reading assigned over the summer b/c I can't wait to learn everything!!

I have orientation for the fall ADN program next Wednesday. From what I have heard there is no summer reading, but we must get CPR cert., a physical, eye exam and go to the dentist. I still am not undrstanding the dentist thing. Does anyone else have to get a dental exam? Does anyone know what the reasoning behind this is? Just wondering.

I've never heard of a dental exam either. Our school just requires medical forms and CPR.

I had to see a dentist before I started too. I forgot but after reading you post, I remember going and having them fill out a form. We started clinical in the hospital about 2 1/2 weeks into the first semester. Never had anything to do over the summer. I couldn't do it. That is sooo much money to dish out at once. Especially since the medical world changes so fast and you may not have the most updated editions for the second year. I agree reading before a lecture but so far in advance, I can't see everything would sink in-I would have to read again later anyway. I can see doing calculations because you can figure those out with most books and they give you questions and then answers in the back. 1200 pages seems like a lot and very odd to me. Golly after buying those books, I hope everyone passes!!!!!

Our school we have to be seen by the School Dr. and that is it. No dental exam, that seems a bit excessive.

I also just found out that I have to pay $180.00 for 2 uniforms on June 5. That's crazy! I've worked in the medical field for 7 years and I've never spent no more than $18.00 on a scrub top. Where are they getting these uniforms from? Saks? How much are your uniforms going to cost?

We are required to buy two uniforms and a lab coat. It's going to cost me around $200 for everything.

Mine came out to be $180 too, which was for the 2 uniforms, labcoat, and a stethoscope.

I have had great luck getting my texbooks on half.com and ebay - I saved $100 on my A&P book on ebay!! Same edition, brand new - I have also sold alot of books on both sites and also on amazon. You can make alot more money than selling them back to the bookstore!
