New Mexico Licensure Question

U.S.A. New Mexico

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

to all who are still waiting for their eligibility. take your time, read and read a lot. sooner your time will come and will sit for the exam. don't get bored and read, read, and read . I know some are anxious and excited to have their eligibility, and will get bored somewhere along the way. Don't stop and continue studying...if not, you'll soon regret that you wish you had studied more. just a tip. ;-)

Thank you W Padre.

I got an email from the BON wiht positive result and registered with Pearsonvue but still waiting for ATT.

What is it ATT, by the way? Will it come as email or in a regular mail?:uhoh3:

i think ATT means Authorization To Test. correct me if im wrong

ATT is the authorization to test and is what is needed for you to be able to select a testing date, as well as present it for admission to the exam.

It is actually issued by Pearson-Vue and not the BON as many think that it is.

thank you for our answer.

i would like to know will it come by email or regular mail:bugeyes: and

how quick it usually comes after registration with pearsonvue?:uhoh3:

the att from pearson-vue will only be given by e-mail now if you provided an e-mail add. when you registered to them. before they give both e-mail and std. ground mail versions of the att. also, check your spam folders, sometimes some e-mails go to that.

The new CES is an 'open service' in terms of English Proficiency exam req't. It is only required if the BON to whom it will send it's report requires it. If it does not or if it waives it upon request by the applicant (for reason of local nursing program being taught in English) then it does not. The CES now is pretty much tailored to what the BON wants. There are also 2 types of CES, it is also the BON that has the say on w/c one they want.

To know if your BON requires an English Prof. exam or will waive it for you or what type of CES they require you need to visit your respective Board's website.

That being said, if you do not have any intentions to work and live in NM, and it now requires CES, why even apply to them. Most are ditching NM as their first choice already and are applying to another State BON that still does their own evaluation and still does not have a US SSN req't for initial licensure.

hi moderators,

i'm in the verge of having a psychiatric condition ... my parents are pushing me to have my nclex and i too want to have it so that i can focus on training and employment after the test but i still can't decide on what state i would apply for a license:banghead:. I don't want to spend much money and time. My first preference was california yet they are requiring SSN... so as i quote your last statement what are the other states that does not require CES and SSN plus LOCAL LICENSE... are there any?

i have just passed the december 2007 NLE and i still don't have a license and obviously clinical experience... hope you could help me on this one as i'm in the process of chewing all info to come up with the most efficient decision tnx tnx tnx

VT is the only one remaining that I know of. It requires the local license but will make you eligible to take NCLEX if you explained that you still don't have the copy of the license. They will wait for the copy for them to give the license, though.

There might be more on the smaller states but you have to research that yourself.

tnx for the info... yupz i have researched a lot and its just only vermont... hmmm i guess i have just to take some risks... tnx tnx tnx
