Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!
If you want my opinion, I would go now w/ VT, although it also takes them longer than usual, now. The time-period indicated on their website is more or less 3-4 months. With everything even, the price or fee factor will also now come into play.
Please double check w/ VT's website just in case there are changes as well. Better safe than sorry and you will download and print the forms anyway.
Where do you plan to endorse, btw? Sometimes, it's easier to apply directly to the State where you intend to work ultimately.
Above statements are just my humble opinion.
SEEMINGLY, NEW MEXICO NOW REQUIRES THE CES COURSE BY COURSE OF CGFNS.

it seems that the cgfns ces report was placed in the updated website information (for non-us program graduates) as an option to either a cgfns certificate or to a transcript evaluation directly done by the nm bon.
the foreign transcript evaluation done by the nm bon is still mentioned in the application form itself as well as in the updated information. it is likewise included in the timeline of procedure.
interested applicants can seek a clarification on this directly from the bon thru phone call or email.
yup, its really confusing since you do have to pay the $50 for the foreign transcript evaluation by them although you have to submit the CES which is also a transcipt evaluation. so you end up having two transcript evaluation. its almost impossible to call them up since all i get is an answering machine plus they rarely respond through email. already have so much telephone bills from all those international calls to an answering machine.

concerned parties should really contact the boards and hopefully some of them can post the reply given to them by the boards here for everyone to benefit.
fyi - some website info. aren't always updated fast and usually they give an announcement like this before they actually updated the website. i.e. nj bon's application packet wasn't updated right away when they announced that only ces will now be required for foreign rns. they have to give a newsletter or similar to this one from nm first before they can update the aplication packet in their website and if someone requested a hard copy of the application packet- they get the most updated version too or will receive a separate letter explaining the new ammendments. it's not easy to change application packets on the fly and much easier to just add newsletters or announcements of new changes. but definitely - contacting the boards would be the fastest and easiest way and what they say is the final word.

Try calling them up first thing in the morning when their office opens (on their time zone of course)
according to their faq:
Question: If I am a non-US graduate how do I apply to take the NCLEX?Answer: If you are a non-US graduate and successfully completed the CGFNS exam you may apply to take the exam. You will need to submit a copy of your CGFNS certificate with your exam application. If you do not have a CGFNS certificate or educational evaluation, you will need to make a request to your school that they send your transcript directly to the Board of Nursing to be evaluated. If your transcript is not in English, you must make arrangements to have the transcript translated by a qualified translator and sent to the board. You will need to contact the board regarding your transcript evaluation. If your education is found to be comparable, then you may request an exam application from the Board of Nursing or download the exam application from the website at New Mexico Board of Nursing
i will again try later (friday morning in NM) to call them up and clarify this issue once and for all.
