New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

i just hope they could atleast respond to emails of any of us! ive been emailing them but still no reply! :o

according to their faq:

New Mexico Board of Nursing

i will again try later (friday morning in NM) to call them up and clarify this issue once and for all.

This is what I'm talking about websites not being updated on the fly. NJ BON didn't update their application packet right away and just made an annoucement that only the CES is req'd by their Boards.

Pls. post their reply here for everyone. Ask the situations for New Applicants yet to submit anything and applicants whose transcripts were already approved directly and just pending eligibility letter while your at it; if you don't mind that is.

CES is not a requirement it is optional. I have asked the BON about this.

CES is not a requirement it is optional. I have asked the BON about this.

Great. When did you ask for this?

Can you post it here plus the dates. Thanks.

this was my question to ms vidaurri yesterday when i emailed her nov 30, 2006:

we would like to inquire and clarify the news that new mexico now requires ces in order to be eligible to sit in for nclex-rn? is it a new requirement or your office still do your own evaluation for your applicants.

i hope you can enlighten us with this.

her reply same day:

it is not a requirement it is an option.

THis was already posted. CES is not a requirement but optional if you have it.

People calling/emailing the BON all the time instead of reading the info just adds to delays ....

i did read the post in the other thread that sabrina vidaurri emailed and said it was optional. i called today and i again got an answering machine. i'm just trying to be sure about this issue since if it would be me that would be affected by the long delay if CES was needed.

Threads merged since issue seems to be resolved and nothing really new were added after all. Concerned applicants who have received or will be receiving e-mails from Ms. Sabrina re: the issue may still add "testimonials" here.

i emailed ms. vidaurri about this issue today and this was her reply:

to ms sabrina vidaurri:

im a bit confused by the new requirements posted in the nm bon website concerning the ces. im wondering whether the ces is already a requirement for filing an application for licensure by examination or is it just optional? some of my fellow rns from the philippines are also asking the same question as they have decided to go through nm bon. it would really help a lot of us, if this issue is answered as soon as possible since we're still waiting to know before we submit our applications. thank you very much.

it is optional ..... i have discovered that the form that is on the website was updated with new information but some how it has older information on it that really does not apply ...... i am in the process of making the changes. thank you.

so it is quite definite that ces is not a requirement but only optional, as it was previously.

Thanks, Jeff. Case closed. :deadhorse

Yes, Ms. Sabrina said that the CES is an option, not a requirement. Also, for those who are still waiting for their transcripts to be evaluated first before submitting their application, fingerprints and fees, Ms. Sabrina also said that you have to submit them before commencing evaluation of your transcripts.

I am on the same boat as most of you. According to the FEDEX tracker, my transcripts sent by my school were received by the NM BON last Nov. 10 and am waiting for the transcript evaluation. After 2 wks I inquired if they have already received my transcipts, they told me to send also my application/fingerprint cards and fees so that it can be evaluated.

So, better send them now, rather than wait to complete the 35 days.
