New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

dear sir/madam:

this letter is being sent to inform you of the procedures that the new mexico board of nursing utilizes in order to process applications for nurse licensure submitted by your agency. please be sure all applicants sent from your agency are aware of these procedures in order to avoid their frustration and concern. the inordinate amount of calls and correspondence requesting licensing and exam information has prompted us to remind everyone of these processes.

procedure:

1.packet received by board - date-stamped

2.packet reviewed for completeness - any missing items, including transcripts, fingerprint information, fees, blanks not filled in on form (s) will delay processing for at least thirty (30) days.

3.transcript review - allow up to thirty-five (35) days for completion.

4.finalized file review - check all forms, fees, transcript review, fingerprint/criminal background/disciplinary check.

5.allow forty-five (45) to sixty (60) days for processing for license / exam after receiving in board offices - any requests received regarding status before the forty-five (45) day period cannot be processed.

6.if applicant not notified of status by sixty (60) days, contact board at

505-841-9087 or email to [email protected] email will have a faster response time.

there may be some instances when complete review of files is completed in less than the stated times, but this should not be taken as the norm.

if you have any further questions you may contact the assistant director over the licensing / exam area.

thank you.

i emailed them last night.. they replied this.. does this mean i have to mail them the application forms and payment now?

i dont have an agency i cant understand this "packet" thing.

and any blanks not filled will delay upto 30days??? wow, i dont think that all info in form is needed to be filled.. should i put "none" in those blanks?

45-60days waiting time weew. talk about new rules..

Yes you must send the application packet including payment, fingerprints, application to the board. Otherwise your file will not be commenced. Their instructions are quite clear regarding what to write on the forms.

They are sending this because every time someone sends an incomplete document in and then calls to inquire about the progress, you are delaying things for yourself and everyone else.

45-60 days is not a lot compared to any other state!! Don't forget this is the longest, it could be much faster.

Sorry, but WRONG. Please do not confuse anybody.

Hi

I e-mailed NM BON explaining that my nursing school had sent my transcript, but I recieved no reply. So I e-mailed them again and I still got no reply. I think I shall try one last time before sending my application and fees.

I did the same thing that you did. But I got the reply " If you have not sent in the application yet you must wait the 35 days for results of the evaluation."

So, we have to wait.

And this is also clear here: http://www.bon.state.nm.us/forms/NONUSed.pdf

Good luck to all!

With regards to your question on what middle name to put in that portion this refers to your mothers surname before she was married to your dad.... example if your mom's name is "Ana Bonfiacio" before she got married to your dad. After the marriage Ana Bonifacio became Ana Bonifacio Rizal or Ana B. Rizal"

So therefore what you will put in your application indicating your first name is "Jose" middle name is "Bonifacio" and your surname is "Rizal"

or in short your name should be like this Jose B. Rizal

But if your complete name is Jose Andres Bonifacio Rizal what you will place on your first name is "Jose Andres", middle name "Bonifacio", and surname "Rizal"

On what I can recall the ones who have no middle names are the Japanese people. All Filipinos have middle names. If your still confuse ask your mom whats her surname before she got married to your dad and thats your middle name.

Sorry, you are talking about maiden name, not a middle name.

maiden name

noun [C]

the family name that a woman had before she got married

middle name

noun [C]

1 the name that, in English, comes between your first name and your family name

I live in the USA, that's why I know.

good luck!

Hey,

Yes, just like you I did not send my application yet because NM Board told me to wait 35 days for the results of evaluation of my trasscript which was send them from my school 2 weeks ago. I am still waiting.

Also if you read this: http://www.bon.state.nm.us/forms/NONUSed.pdf

It's here: "Foreign transcripts must be evaluated before submitting exam applications to the Board and to NCLEX. Upon approval (that means after they approve your transcripts) of transcripts an additional fee of $50.00 is required along with exam application fee to NM Board" (it means together with application fee)

Anyway, I live in USA and it is easy for me to call them. I will call them soon and if you have any questions let me know and I will ask them for you.

Have a nice day!

oki tnx lot! ^^
