New Mexico Licensure Question

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

the issue is that some states, such as NY, require that the nurse has passed the CGFNS exam to get a limited permit there.

What does it mean? you need to pass CGFNS and NCLEX in NY first b4 u can work there? im confused, they said there's no need to take CG exam in NY?

how the process goes about from passing nclex to endorsing to another state?

so nm gives you a hard copy of ur' license in 2weeks from the results?

it's for the limited permit and not for the permanent license.

you need to do more research.

1. pass nclex, get license, apply for endorsement to your preferred state and comply with the licensure requirements of that state.

2. 2 weeks after the exam, based on the experience of that somebody who got her license from nm bon 2 months ago.

ah, so how about the ssn? will i get one from the state of nm or to the state i will endorse too as i get there?

I understand that you can apply for a US ssn once you have legal employment anywhere in the US. You will need to go over the requirements and the procedure available from the website of the US social security administration.

certification of eligibility for graduation of nursing program,

candidate bulletin containing nclex application

nationwide criminal history screening including fingerprint cards

fingerprint certificate form

this form will be completed by the agency official taking the

fingerprints and sent by the applicant to the board of nursing

Thanks for your advice. I just e-mail NM BON asking them for the fingerprints cards, and licesure forms. I will keep you posted on this issue.

social security numbers (ssn#) are issued by the us federal government, and you will not receive one until you have completed the immigration process and are in the us and ready to begin work.

you apply to the bon for licensure. you also have to submit a registration form to pearson-vue to take the nclex exam, but do not do that until you have received approval from the bon to do so. or you could be wasting money. that statement is for american nurses.

for 1 and 2. the separate application form refers to the pearson registration form for the att. it comes with the application packet from nm bon if you requested for a mailed copy (it's part of the nclex candidate bulletin from pearson). you don't need that at this time. you can register in pearson online after you confirm your eligibility from the bon (no need for a paper form). i suggest you read the 2006 nclex candidate bulletin available free for download from homepage of ncsbn.org or pearson vue nclex. instructions for att are all there. register online in pearson vue for att only after you have eligibility from the bon. registration fee is not refundable.

for #3: it comes with the fingerprint cards packet that you will request thru email. it can also be downloaded from nm bon's website (forms page - criminal background check).
