I am starting in September I figured it would be nice to start a thread where all of us new students could come and and share our experiences/help eachother out as we are on our way to be nurses :)
I don't start the program until September, but I'm getting really excited. I have two children, so this is going to be alot of work for our little family! Eventually I'd like to have a masters; luckily after your LPN year you can basically get everything else online!
Our program is only 9 months.. So I'm a little nervous about that amount of information in that time period. I'm VERY eager to learn and simply can't wait. I've worked in the hospital setting now for a little over a year and have learned a tremendous amount. I work in a rural area so there aren't any specialities that you can do, it's pretty much general nursing, but you can get a feel for every area!
I can't wait to meet new students and get myself aquainted with and inspired by everyone here!
OK so my orientation now starts on 12/10 and now the 14th. I'm going to take the HESI Entrance exam on December 16th. If I don't pass I get dropped from the program, but I'm staying positive. They do prepare you for it and I've bought a study guide that I've already started using. I'm interested in knowing how are things going with JamNurse2425.
I'm totally excted! I was just found out I was accepted to the LPN Evening program at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Miami. I had applied since last October for the January class. It has been an emotonal rollercoaster but it was ALL WORTH IT!
I'm so thrilled and excited that cannot even sleep or stay still:dncgbby:

Best of luck!!!!!!:anpom:
Wow! I finally found someone else going to Kaplan here in Vegas!!! That is so awesome! Are you excited? I am thrilled - but like everyone else here tired of waiting...
I know! This is great! I thought I'd never find anyone that would be attending the same school. I am super excited. I can't believe that orientation is finally just around the corner.

I start my program at a technical school on January 6th. The program is 11 months and it's 5 days a week...basically like going back to high school...only...harder I'm sure, lol. I am excited and terrified at the same time! I moved back in with my parents to make this dream a reality. I've been living in retail hell with seemingly no way out for the past 7 years. Anybody out there who is going to the York School of Technology LPN program? It's actually both a high-school as well as a school for adult learners and higher education in technical fields. It's literally only a mile up the road from where I live!
