Hello everybody!

I too am starting my LPN classes this spring...first class is this Thursday infact! I am so super excited, nervous and scared all at the same time!

I was a CNA in HS and after for about 10 years. Then came kids and life and other jobs. I now have the opportunity to go back to school and finish what I started so many, many year ago! I am looking forward to this journey I am about to begin and wish all of you the very best in your studies and look forward to seeing and hopefully sharing in our highs and lows.

I am attending classes at my local community college here in IL :w00t:

I plan on applying for the LPN to RN transition program when I am finished with LPN.

Hello all!

I am new to this posting threads but not to the site. I always visited this website for inspiration and motivation. I am 20 years old and a mother of a 4 year old. I am currently enrolled at MCI in Richmond, Va. And they offer the 14 month LPN program, I started in Nov. of last year. The terms are 5 weeks long. I'm just trying to provide a wonderful future for my son. Once I complete school, I plan to relax for about a year or two and then go back for my BSN in Nursing. I want to allow my son time to grow and be experience his first years in school. I am proud to say that, I am now working on my 3rd term. I have just completed Freshman Orientation, A & P 1, and Nursing Math. I am now going into A & P 2 and Foundations of Nursing 1. We will be doing lectures and labs this term! I am so excited but yet nervous. We are getting closer and closer to the end! I graduate Jan. of 2012...But we have a Dosage Competency test to do and we have to get a 85% or higher. We don't have to take that until like 3 months down the line. I have big plans but I plan to back it up. I wish everyone luck in whatever it is they do! If anyone has any questions or comments email me! Good day!

I COMPLETELY AGREE! lol

I am loving every minute of my LPN program so far! I started on January 3, 2011 and I cannot believe how fast the weeks have been going already!

One word of advise.... make sure you do all of your work and pay attention in fundamentals! It is setting your foundation as a nurse and you will build on it as the months go buy! And if you stay on top of all your assignments, then you will never fall behind, because I have already witnessed someof that happening in my program, and that is only a road to disaster!

But on a brighter note, you will make friends that will start to become family. We study during lunch, and have potlucks on lab days. We even come early to meet each other in the library. It is great to have support systems that understand what you are going through!

One mroe word of advise.... ALWAYS volunteer in lab and at clinicals. This is your time to practice and to have everyone to support you and help you along the way. :lol2:

Keep us updated on your journeys! Good luck guys and gals!:nurse:
