I am starting the LPN program at Grand Rapids Community College this January 7th, 2011.
Already accepted, as I have been waiting for 2 years!
All set to go, got everything done. Just completed CNA training and started a new job at a LTC to gain experience, both clinically and for when I graduate as an LPN.
Just spending the remaining time, before I start, with starting to read nursing fundamental books, pharmacology and Med-Surg.
Good luck to us all!

I also doing the same thing!!! LOL!!! I got all my books already, so I am reading my Fundamentals, Pharm and Med-Surg also...I know that once school starts we are going to get slammed with HW and reading, this way, I am one step ahead of the game...
Yep, same thing with me, trying to be proactive and learn some of the material now. So nervous though!!!

I am so excited to be tying this. I am in for Jan 2011. I will be going to CTC in Killeen. I have to do the whole background check, drug test and physical thing. I have all my shots and everything already. I just have to turn them in. Congrats to everyone that will be starting and I hope we can all depend on each other for support while we ride this roller coaster.
I was in a LVN program for a year at a JC before the state put thier accredidation on probation. Having done my prereq's there also, I knew that they would not get thier stuff together, so I decided to drop and look for a different school...now I am starting at a private school in January where they took all my credits from the JC.
Needless to say, I know what is coming so that is why I preparing ahead of time.

I will be starting January 2011 at York County School of Technology in Pennsylvania.
Count down to January has begun...I can not wait to start school, but nervous also. The LVN program I was in previous to this was 18 months long and very intense. I hardly saw my husband or friends because I was always studying. God only knows what the intensity of a 12 month program is going to be like, so that is why I am trying my darndest to get a jump start on all the reading so that I can have a througho understanding when class starts.
I think it would really be great if we all stayed in touch with each other on our 12 month journey so we can lean on one another for support.

I got accepted into the LPN program at Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida on my first try. My start date is January 10th, 2011. I have completed my background screening and drug testing. I have gotten my titers test drawn to see which immunizations I need to get before I begin and I am awaiting my results. I have a mandatory orientation on November 30th which also consists of a math test in which you must pass with a 90% or higher and if you do not then you will have to attend a math bootcamp. I have been a CNA and working at a LTC facility for 3 years now. I have been extremely busy with working full time and taking 4 class this semester but it will all be worth it because once this semester is done I will have my AA degree. Once I have completed the LPN program, I plan to get into the transition to RN program asap.
I wish everyone the best of luck and congratulations on making it into the program.
Does anyone know of any good reference books to get for the LPN program?
