  1. Yep, same thing with me, trying to be proactive and learn some of the material now. So nervous though!!!
  2. I am starting the LPN program at Grand Rapids Community College this January 7th, 2011. Already accepted, as I have been waiting for 2 years! All set to go, got everything done. Just completed CNA training and started a new job at a LTC to gain experience, both clinically and for when I graduate as an LPN. Just spending the remaining time, before I start, with starting to read nursing fundamental books, pharmacology and Med-Surg. Good luck to us all!
  3. Hi All, I am due to start the LPN program at GRCC (Grand Rapids Community College) this coming Winter 2011 Semester (January 7th) and am looking for anyone else that may be starting at GRCC or any other Michigan college? Little about me, just finished my CNA training about a month ago, and start my first new job in this position tomorrow. I have spent hours and hours trying to read blogs, watch YouTube, etc, trying to figure out what it will be like, trying to get prepared. I would love to find either former LPN students or current ones to share experiences etc with.
  4. Hi I also start the LPN this January as well! Good Luck!
  5. Hi All, I thought I would see who is out there that is starting their nursing program at GRCC either this Fall (RNs) or Winter (PNs)? Lets get to know each other now. I don't know about you, but I am growing even more nervous by the day. I am starting the PN program this Winter (January) 2011 semester after waiting two years. The official orientation is October 20th, 2010.
  6. I have to agree with a few others here about never thinking this day would come about being able to finally post this (been on LPN waiting list for 2 years, after I finished pre-reqs) Grand Rapids Community College January 2011 Not sure- maybe surgery Age - 38
  7. Hi All, I was glad to see someone from the GR area. I have been on the waiting list at GRCC now for 2 years (LPN program) and my seat has finally come open, I start this Winter 2011 semester (January 7th). I decided that it would be quicker, as far as wait lists go, to complete the LPN first. Also, I figured I could get my LPN, work for short time, as I can't be unemployed for 2 years to complete the RN program from start to finish, and then either return part-time to GRCC for their advance standing LPN-RN program or attend Monroe Community College's LPN-RN program online (thru MCCVLC). In my opinion, I will still graduate very close to the same time a new RN student would, but gain the advantage of being able to work in between, gain experience which I hope translates into a little help during school etc. Hopefully there are more of us out here, I am really starting to get nervous!!
