U.S.A. Kentucky

hi there! i am a nursing student due to graduate in june with my associate's degree, and i'm in the process of applying for jobs. i live in ohio, but i'm looking to move south, and i'm really considering ky because i have a lot of family there. does anyone out there know about nurse residency or new grad training programs at hospitals around kentucky? i'm just looking for some helpful advice or insight that can give me an idea of where to look, or what to expect. also, will hospitals pay for your rn-bsn once you've been employed there for a while? any help would be appreciated very much! thank you

No one is hiring now due to long waits in to many applicants...

Specializes in Psych.

I live in Louisville and I graduated in December. I was hired before I even finished school at a hospital I have never worked in. There is a large demand in Louisville. There's 7 hospitals within a 25 mile radius! LOL.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Acute Rehab.

I too, had a job prior to graduating this past December. There are lots of jobs here. Check out Clark Memorial in Jeffersonville, IN. It's wonderful.

I did not have a job before I graduated Dec. 2008 , seemed to me places were somewhat slow to respond , but that could have just been me .I did get a job offer at Jewish in Louisville , KY but declined that one & took a job at St. Joseph in Lexington,Ky. The first day of my orientation on my way home I also got a call from Cumberland Hospital in Somerset , KY. The nurse mgr that called me about this job had just gotten my resume that I had sent in 9 days earlier. To bad the call came after I had already started it offered the Baylor Plan in ICU . I hope this helps you .

Specializes in Cardiac Nursing.

Some new grads can find jobs easier than others. I've had to apply outside of KY to find anything. Nothing yet, but at least I finally have gotten some interviews. All I can tell you is to apply and see what happens. You might be one of the lucky ones.
