I hear North Dakota is hiring even though the housing may be tough.
Is this true? If so which hospital? Do you think a large hospital will hire me as a new grad into the ICU or Med Surg?
I have a BSN but it's been two years since I've had clinical experience (ICU). I have an internship coming up in January but I am hoping to find a job before that or have a job lined up after the internship.
I applied to 15 hospitals in Texas so far and got one interview and two call backs. Interview didn't go anywhere and the two hospitals haven't called me back. I am starting to get desperate here and the job search was even tougher than I imagined.
HELP!!!!!!!!!! I am willing to go anywhere in the country.
Hi TeeCee
That was a different user that replied to you. You can apply to most specialties and you would have a good shot depending on your resume. Pay is 22-23 like other person stated. Living cost is a bit high, housing won't be hard to find but they are not exactly cheap either. You won't save a ton of money but it is a great hospital to gain some experience and start your career. I endorsed it first but you'll be fine applying without endorsement. It really doesn't take that long to get it endorsed, ND is a very small state so the process is fairly quick. It's a big decision but if you really need to the experience like I did, I still recommend it. It can be a tough transition though given the weather and the cultural changes.

Meh, it is a change. I wish the food was better and cheaper.
But housing is a little harder to find, you just have to keep looking.
775 a month for 820 sqft. heating is paid(water and air). You cannot beat that. In Texas I would not be able to get anything this size for this quality.
Continue your career or let it go to waste. The only thing worse than a new grad is an old grad with no experience.
Lol @old grad with no experience. I've applied to st alexius medical center and hopefully I'll get a positive response soon. I can't wait to start this thing off
which did you apply for?
If you need housing help shoot me a message. I am willing to do charity for new nurses. Nobody helped me when I was wanting to move here and it sucked.
Sanford Fargo is where I just got hired as a new grad. Hope that helps! Housing is actually quite reasonable in the Fargo/Moorhead area depending on what you want. I am looking at a 2 bedroom between 600-700 dollars and finding quite a few. Can't wait to start in a few weeks!!
Which hospital please?

Pls I have more questions....did you have to endorse your RN license completely b4 they hired u? Or were u still in the process of endorsement? What is the pay like as a new grad? Was it difficult to find housing? Did you have to start out with medsurg or did they hire u into a specialty? Pls answer as much as you can. I'll appreciate it. Thanks
