New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

i havent read all the pages yet since i left... i hope those with pending applications then had their approvals already... best wishes to all with your BP and job hunting.. as long as you have experience (training, volunteer, paid) you will still be able to find job but you just have to widen your choices.. for those with adequate experience, dont worry about job hunting.. what more can i say, except that those who may not be able to find a job are perhaps those who are so choosy, i mean even right now, our nursing home needs 1-2 RN now, then another 1 (so thats 3), and i bet if you will apply here, you;ll be hired, that is if you will apply.. i hope you got my point.. peace.. good luck..

=( my BP will start this friday and I still dont have my visa... huhuhuhu

Where can I have MRSA taken??? VCHN requires that MRSA screening be done before I commence the BP but I can't seem to find a provider that does it. :(

Yup, they do.

Hi! It's been awhile since I last posted here but I visit this forum most of the time to read updates.

I'm actually on the process of completing requirements for my application. I just have a few questions regarding the AGOS -04 form.

in question no. 11

I wrote there registered nurse in the title of qualification and Philippine Board of Nursing/ PRC as the name of Intitution, my question is what will I write in the completion date? Is it when I graduated from college? and the length of program is 4 years right?

then, is it in same no. 11 that I also write that I took the IELTS already? then what would I place for the title of qualification?

lastly, Im quite confused regarding who will send the IELTS result. I have with me my results of the test, will I just photocopy this and be notarized? or the IDP will be the one to send this?

I hope you guys can help me with this. Thanks in advance!

@ isobelle: have you tried asking the doctors appointed by the australian embassy on where to avail such screening? I'm afraid we can't just Google it!

I just called Makati Med and they do MRSA screening. Try calling tertiary hospitals within your area. :)

You can try UP PGH. The results will take 3-5 days. Im not sure how much. Just try to call them if they still do the MRSA swab test. I just got this information from another forum that i frequently visit.

All the best!

@isobelle and bellaire re: VCHN

The MRSA screening can also be done there. My sister went with that route. Don't worry about it that much. However, make sure you bring all original results with you. She forgot one and we had to send hers by courier.
