New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

have to read and analyze the information on a proper context.. example.. only 220 of 800 were hired by Queensland health, well, is queensland health the only employer in Queensland? are those 800 applicants artistic that they do not want to apply in aged care? ...those who were not hired, did they apply for jobs in the rural area in remote islands in queensland?? somethings have to clarified..

i found out in TV patrol and bandila that volunteer experience is not recognized abroad. is this true for australia?

which of the two has a higher chance of getting hired in australia, a local grad with no experience or a foreign grad with volunteer/training experience?

again, it boils down to specifics and perspective, example, volunteer experience may not be recognized for the purpose of immigration, registration, salary negotiation, etc. etc.. so when we receive information, need to decipher it, generalization or general report is not enough..

i have define and explain "experience" in page 01 of this thread.. when i was still there in phils., i have rendered my opinion regarding "experience" in this thread, and now im here in aussie, my opinion remains the same.. if you have 1 year volunteer hospital experience, and you will my apply in our nursing home, and show commitment in working here,,, i'll bet my t-back you will be hired....

Has anyone applied to this one? Please share:)

ARNTP SOUTH AUSTRALIA...... this is new information particularly that quote in the website that ARNTP graduates are eligible for registration at NMBA.. meaning, you can enrol with ARNTP without yet your eligibilty letter from ahpra.. i hope somebody will share something about this or will do further research, or better yet inquire/email them to clarify this... sorry, im busy now to research on this..

or can anyone email/inquire ahpra like this: You AHPRA, if a school will accept me for BP without your AHPRA eligibility letter, and after finishing that BP, will you AHPRA grant me license (of course on the assumption that i will file and submit all other documentary requirements? You Ahpra, is it okey for us to take BP prior applying with your office? or it is really a requirment for us to take BP after you give letter of eligibility...

thanks cioman!

the school told me that i need a new letter for my enrolment, but last year December they said that its ok to use the old one :( ,, i really don't know how to process it, i tried calling them to no avail, so i emailed them, from experience they usually reply after 2 weeks,,i dunno how many weeks of delay this would cause :(

others may be able to help you more if you give further specifics, like what is that old letter of eligibility that you have? from the old nursing board of what? nsw, victoria, qnc? what is the date of your letter?

example, Western Australia old nursing board letter of eligibility is valid 2 years (or 3 years)..

if you give more information, perhaps others have similar experience with you hence could help you.. what school is that? perhaps others here have same problem with same school, hence, can help you..

good luck.. good night.. its 2:00 AM here, gotta sleep..

on the other hand, have you tried to email AHPRA regarding the validity of your letter?? example, Western Australia old nursing board letter of eligibility is valid 2 years (or 3 years)..

thank you! is it hard to commute to rural areas? how much is a typical accommodation for a week in a rural area? in sydney it's around 150-200 a week right? :yeah:

hello,

Is there anyone there who's going to their BP in Alpine Health this coming 31 January?

Hi everyone. I am new here and I i found this thread very helpful and informative. so before anything else, Kudos to the admins or whatever you call them.:)

Anyway, i recently attended orientations about this IRON program and became very interested. However they were not very specific on the process/steps, or where to start and the requirements. So i wonder with all the newbies out there like me, where do I start? what and where is the best way to start? im thinking of these options.

1. Inquire at the Australian Embassy(Makati) in person. (I am up to lines or any hassle it may offer, considering PI. haha)

2. Agencies, Agents (where can i find them. i have one, PMCeducation, testimonials anyone?)

3. Do the steps on my own. (Submit req. on AHPRA etc. etc.)

4. NOTA

it would be very helpful to a noob like me to reply on this. Thankyou in advance and to those RNs in PI who are in desperate need of job or experience you might want to look at this recently launched program(RN HEALS).(DOH LAUNCHES ‘RN HEALS' PROJECT TO DEPLOY NURSES TO POOR COMMUNITIES | Department of Health)

Have a good day!:)

Hi

The easiest, fastest and cheapest way is to do it on your own.

Go back to page 1 and start reading this thread, I know because that's what i did.

Good luck!!

ThankYou Aking_skye, maybe ill just do it myself then.:)

I went into the AHPRA site to look for the requirements to be passed on them. but i am a bit confused because there are a lot of forms listed there.

There are tabs that says "Registration for Practitioners" - which has another tab for the reqs that includes (1)Criminal history (2) English language skills (3) Professional indemnity insurance arrangements (4) Continuing professional development (5) Recency of practice; are these the ones that i should be submitting?

because they have this other tab that is "Student Registrations"(which sounds more right). But has nothing much information on this matter.

it must be somewhere in the website as stated on Page1 or do i have to call them to get the complete list of reqs. and where do i get the forms. help anyone. Thank you.:)
