New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@rncoco and summer88

Im recommending ETEA because I went there for the BP and we really learned a lot. Plus, the educators have been very helpful.

summer88, yup, I finished my BP in November. Early exit. Had our clinicals at Kilmore. Still waiting for AHPRA, though. Im still job hunting. some of my classmates have been hired, though, even pending their AHPRA registration, but they have to get their license before they can commence work..hopefully we'd get our registration soon..all in all, it's been good.:yeah:

thanks Drednag.:up:goodluck looking for work. your batchmates in the BP were they hired by the clinical hospita? do you know once the registration is released how long is the process for the 457 visa? are you back in the Phils now?or did you ask for extension of your 456 visa. again goodluck and all the best.

That's good news, drednag. an early exit sounds a better news to me. Congrats!

Same as summer's, I would like to ask your plans about the 456 visa. Is it not about to expire, sir?

Thanks for your reply faveispink, actually the reason why i opted for qld is my relatives are there so in terms of accomodation etc, it could save me heaps. I wonder why qld does not offer this kind of program :uhoh3: Yeah your right i might as well take your advice (i have thought of that as well) if there's no other choice. Have you done yours?

I already got a letter from AHPRA and I am planning to do the BP next year...

@summer88 and mikyong...thanks!:) those who were hired from our batch (two of them actually) were hired by different hospitals, not Kilmore, though. I went to several job interviews, however, they asked for my registration before they could seriously consider me. my two classmates were really lucky to have been hired even pending their registration. as for me, I am planning to return to the Philippines for christmas..then come back here in Australia early 2011 to continue my job hunting...keeping my fingers crossed. :yeah:

To all those who are on their way to do their BP, best of luck to you, guys and gals! Im sure you'll all do fine. :):up::up::up:
