New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hello annelle I am also for the same intake. IHNA mailed me sometime back telling that the october intake will start in advance from 24th September. Then they didnt give me any further information. And today I receive another email from them saying that the intake will begin on 8th October. I have been so much confused. Can you tell me if the classes will begin from 8th October for sure and not 24th September? I tried to call IHNA but too late for their office hour.

hi! do you guys now if the accreditation for 2012 of IHNA is already done? I would like to apply there just got my LOE today thank God! :)

I don't have experience also, and right now I'm still working for my IELTS. I'm planning to go at Curtin University. I have read one of the posts here that you can directly apply to the university if you want to enroll in nursing graduate entry. It would be 3 years but we can apply for prior learning exemption for credits, thus, it would only take us 1.5 to 2 years to study. It's expensive though. I opt to choose this (and not the conversion course) because after we graduate, we can already apply for PR.

Oh, and by the way, are you by any chance a fellow Filipino???

Or not...?

patringrn please use only english cos it is unfair for native english speakers if we use tagalog language here. remember, they have built this site to help us in connection with their concern for all nurses with their needs and to empower them with knowledge.

so what campus are you in??? im also for ihna on august.

don't worry about ihna asking for visa cos you are already halfway in your visa processing and ihna said this in a letter in one of their latest emails:

please be aware that 2 weeks prior to the course commencement, it is important for you to inform the college regarding :

  1. visa status and arrival date
  2. any change in contact details

i am still about to send my visa documents hehehe :) i hope it will pass their requirements and i will get my visa on time but i will have to hurry now. :)

i think your message from them is already an advice for medicals. take your letter to the medical center approve by the australian embassy in your region or city and let them see your letter cos they will tell you to start it or not. btw i don't know where you are from so try to look up the philippine australian embassy website for accredited centers.

my friends told me the medicals is about 5-6k pesos in davao. so they asked me to bring about 6k. i don't know how much it is in your area and how long it is but it should be around that amount or a little bit more so bring 7-7.5k to have extra cash with you.

i don't know about the ielts requirement too cos it means i have no choice but to submit mine also.

i already did my medical this morning :D i paid 5,900 ... i have also submitted my ielts result with the 6.5 to the via center. i guess i would have to wait for the visa.. i pray that they would not require me to submit ielts with the 7.0 minimum scores.. for there is no more time for me to repeat the exam.. and praying that i pass the medicals..

please submit your requirements already. the embassy would send you a letter which you would have to bring to the accredited health facility.. i do hope we would become classmates at inha.. my campus is in melbourne :D you?

guys, for the medicals, what we need to bring are the HAP ID, the scanned passport given by the AUS embassy and do we still need to bring the Forms 26 and 160?

nicoline in which state did you apply? is that from WA?

I just got my new ielts result since my previous one expired last march and I got 6.5 in reading...

The embassy is already asking for the result as I am already in the process of doing the medicals.

I am already enrolled at IHNA and is due to take the BP this august..

WHAT WILL I DO?!?! can I send the embassy the ielts result with the 6.5 and tell them that I will repeat the IELTS ASAP so that I can proceed with the visa processing?

INHA is also asking for my visa updates.. :(

HELP!!

Happened to me too. Submitted them an ielts result with 6.5 in writing. Ihna and the embassy wont mind. Im already doing the bridging course as we speak. :) But i think u will still need to re-sit the exam before u apply for the 457 visa.
