New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

i lodged my 456 2 weeks ago, they only took the certified true copies of all my docs. although i did have the original passport on hand and they did look for it but returned it afterwards.

hi candy! i sent you a pm! :)

Why dont you try schools in melbourne if you cant find the schools in ACT? After all, it will just be a matter of months, important thing is you'll be studying the BP already 

That's too far and it will cost me a lot. If it's in Sydney or maybe in ACT, i can stay in my cousin's house :) you have any idea?

I also have relatives in sydney but still I feel that if ever I have to wait for CON till next year it would be better to enroll now, finish the BP faster and have a job earlier. Time is ticking, letters, certificates and the IELTS result will all expire soon. So we should hurry up 

hi everyone, i'm also scouting for BP schools. I'm still waiting for my AHPRA letter but their representative said the decision will be at the end of this month, so I'm really hoping to catch a course intake maybe this September or October.

Is it advisable to submit multiple applications with different schools? I'd really like to secure a slot in some schools, but the applications usually come with a fee so I'm not sure if I should just send with one school.

I'm looking at the ff schools,

-Mercy Health Training Institute

-College of Nursing

-Australian Centre of Further Education

-Institute of Health and Nursing Aus

any feedback from those who enrolled/inquired?

For now, I think I want to go to College of Nursing, primarily coz it has the shortest course duration (8weeks=less expenses:P). Any commentswith this school? Know of good schools which either absorb students for employment or increase the chances of landing a job immediately post-bp?

And for those who've done the bridging program, how did you pay for your tuition fees? I'll be using my parents' money so these are US dollar and peso accounts. What do you suggest I do?

thanks to all, this forum has been TREMENDOUSLY helpful! :yeah:

wow :) i hope, i'd be like you..congrats btw :) may i ask how much is the tuition fee at La trobe uni? thanks :)

I paid $10,020 something at that time. I don't know if they've increase already :)

Hello guys!

It's been awhile since I visited this forum and posted here. How's everyone doing with their application, BP, and work? Hope everyone reached their OZ dream.

Btw, I did my BP at La Trobe Uni last January together with some forumers here as well. I am currently working now under 457 visa. Thank God, everything went on smoothly.

hi princessblush,

Thanks for the help. God bless!

Hi Blicka!

I think I was just blessed because after I got the early exit, then applied for registration, my registration came out really fast (say about a week). And then I applied to every single position posted in the internet. And it was not that long till I got a call as well.

Oh wow!!! Seriously? You are so lucky! How early was your exit in BP? How long did you do the course? Which school?

dear friends, does anyone have any clear idea how to get good standing certificate from saudi arabia.

Any contact details of any offices or any agency who does thin in Riyadh?

Where are these 4 schools located?

All these schools are located in Melbourne. No one has ever posted getting into the ACT health system for bridging course.

There is NO WAY that you can commute between Canberra and Sydney on a day to day basis. It is a 3 hour drive, depending on were you are going in Sydney if it is in northern suburbs you will be looking at a 4-5 hour drive and public transport will not be possible on a day to day basis, no trains go to Canberra it is a bus service.

Unless you are flying which is about 50 mins each way. The cost just in transport would be higher than staying somewhere in Melbourne for a few weeks.

I understand. Which state has the cheapest rates for accommodation? Aside from CON, which school would you guys suggest?

Can I still use my AHPRA letter that is addressed to CON to any other BP providers?
