New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

That's too high i cant afford it. How long before they gave you the receipt and offer letter in CON?
I know right. But I'd rather spend extra gran than wait with no assurance. According to CON, there's a long waiting list. Just basing from my cousin's mate, she applied last Feb and got the Sept intake and she's even onshore. So I didn't bother applying in CON, my AHPRA letter expires on January 2013. Just hoping to get IHN

Lol my phone is playing up, didn't finish my message. As I was saying, just hoping to pass my interview in IHNA and MHTI.

hello ilove83080..:w00t:.

Hi Makikay_rx! =)

How are you? How was your BP experience? Any tips/advice? Do you now have your registration and what state processed yours? Got job offers already? :) Share your experience, dear :)

I have a question about what you replied to ilove83080:

Secondly, You will tick under entering/working in a healthcare facility. Your reason is your clinical placement which is definitely part of your Bridging program.

--> I thought this should be answered with a No despite the fact that we will be undergoing clinical placement coz the immigration might deem that we have plans of looking for a job while studying. but since your reason is it being a part of the BP, then i think it's ok. but i'm not sure, please enlighten me further :)

thanks and goodluck to you dear :)

Cummulus. Thanks for the information. Don't get discouraged okey. :) I think IHNA assuring their students that August intake would be okey already means they are making it safe for all us to enroll. Australian School would not declare anything that will lead to an adverse future for their students because of all the legalities and they maintain credibility in all their dealings. I will go on with my application. What will you do?

hi there ilove83080 :) thanks for the concern :) yup, i'm ok with ihna's reply already moreso that you guys feel positive about this. :) i just asked ihna if i can maximize my 2 weeks' duration to pay for the 1500 coz i'm still waiting for help from family members. so, i'd probably pay 2nd week of june. thanks again dear :)

have you started with their e-course already? :) wiiii! go, complete the visa app =D nice, you're moving forward :)

Oh please think carefully on this reasoning...the reason that you want the visa is to do a bridging course so that you can become a Registered Nurse in Australia, not the Phillipines, not the United States, not New Zealand, Australia..

.I think DIAC already will have a clear picture what every international nurse has to enter a health facility when applying for visa to do this course and that their intention is to look for work after the course.

If you apply not answering truthfully in you visa application, YES your intention is to enter a hospital or nursing home, that will set off alarm bells,

why....are you trying to get out of a health check? that would be my question if assessing your visa. :twocents:

Hii cummulus,

I would say I agree with makikay regarding entering/working in a healthcare facility. You should tick YES coz obviously you are. The only reason for that question is for your medical exam. If you will be in a healthcare facility whether you are studying or working, you need to do additional medical test like blood test for hepatitis A and B which means additional payment. You should be truthful in filling up the DIAC form that's all. Don't be too paranoid. The important thing is you can support yourself financially while here in Australia.

It will take you another month before an update comes in again but that's not about the outcome yet :(

What do they usually ask after a month?

hi keralanurse, i too go thru th same situation. Applied in septmbr, 8 months on and still waiting......................... :uhoh3: im from Kochi. wich part of kerala u belong to? wich is ur agency??

hi..all......tis s my first post in tis forum ...i'm a nurse frm india...i frequently visit tis site to clear all my doubts abt bridging programme....I too had applied for my decision letter way back in last sept from AHPRA Western Australia....gone through all ti drama..............after gettng a recent mail frm them i hd Updated my CV & detailed Exp letter & send it back to them...Still Waitng ...:( NO RESPONSE

So,in the mean time i had applied for Bachelor of nursing at Deakin Uni....[Credit prior learning system ] They assesed my application & they said i hv 2 study 2 semester & course duration is 1 yr...last day i got an offer letter from them .... ti problem is tat the course will finish only by next July 2013... bt my ielts validity will expire by tis feb 2013 ...so is it possible for me to register with NMBA or i hv to get new ielts score ..

I think the answer to that is no. Because when you are talking about health facilities in Australia, for me it means that you are going to undergo something in that facility like nursing homes where in you will have yourself confined. Am I correct?

LOL no! The answer should be YES. Healthcare facility are hospitals and nursing homes. DIAC will not asked you if you intend to be confined in Australia. Once again, they just wanna know what test you need for your medical exam. The question is pretty straight forward don't stress yourself too much :nono:

Ceridwyn and Blicka, thanks for the responses =) it's a YEEEESSSS, got it :)

Blicka, how did your interview go? What intake would you want to be in and where? :)
