New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi.

I'm finally in Sydney! And should be in Wollongong tomorrow to start getting to know my workplace. I just want thank everyone in this forum who helped me during my AHPRA application (August 2011) up to its approval (Feb. 2012).

If I can be of help to any one here, please don't hesitate to PM me or leave a comment here. This is my way of giving back.

God bless everyone.

wooohoooo! congrats iamnomad =) you deserve all the succes you are enjoying now =) hopefully, in the near future, all of us will be subject matter expertise in AUS app hehehehe =) what unit are you employed, by the way? :) excited for you! =D

Unfortunately, August intake in Melbourne is already full but they will advise me once someone cancelled. It would be fun joining you guys in Melbourne. I am still waiting for MHTI interview this Thursday, then I'll see from there. So how how are you going with your visa application? When are you arriving here?

hi Blicka! =) goodluck dear on your interview with MHTI :) which do you prefer more, btw? :) so you haven't started with the e-course? oh yeah, you're the one from NZ, right? :) hopefully, in august dear we'll be there :)

hi kit1017... what additional docs did your case officer asked from you? when did you submit your application to AHPRA-Vic?

Thanks and God Bless!

congrats to iamnomad! :)

i hope someone in this forum could help me and shed me some light because i'm getting a little mixed up now coz i've started reading the part1 of this forum but unfortunately it was dated way back in 2008 so i jumped to the latest pages and now i can't keep up anymore.. :chuckles: btw i've graduated BSN last 2011 and passed the boards last july 2011..currently i'm a nurse trainee at a tertiary hospital here in San Juan City, Metro Manila but I've read that if you are not paid that doens't count as an experience..and i've also read that there are two types of degrees BSN grads in the Philippines can take in Australia - a 1-2 years BN program or a 2 years MN (grad entry) program. the difference in the 1 and 2 year program is their end scenario. both will make you legible for registration as RN (if there are no problems with the credits given by the Uni to you).

hope you guys could help me :)

however, only the two year program could make you legible to apply for a permanent resident visa. Or is the bridging program a more plausible option? Please help me. I've basically haven't done anything yet, i'm still on my researching process. I hope you could help me here. :)

Hi guys!Anyone here considering accepting offer from UniSA or have accepted the program for the October intake? Please please send me an email so we can talk about stuff :) here's my email ad: [email protected]

hi maanchoo! :) may i ask if your on the bridging program? i'm sorry if i'm a bother but you're the only one online here so i asked you.. :)

Hi zara! No I'm not yet doing the bridging program but I'm planning to :)
