Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi Maanchoo, I've applied for ARNTP at UniSA. currenty they are assessing my application. Have you applied?? How do you rate the programme? Any boons and banes??
Thanks :thankya:
Hi jim! I also applied in UniSA but still have to submit a document :) I think the program is good because I've heard they are not that strict with admissions and while waiting for the LoE from AHPRA, it's better to study the bridging course (ARNTP). The only disadvantages I see are: 1. It's more expensive 2. Takes more time to complete (6 months vs 3 months in other schools). But they say the cost of living in adelaide is low so it is good anyway :) i hope I get to meet more people who would take the course this october so we would all be together in a flat/apartment which means more fun and lesser cost of accommodation :) so keep in touch! God bless to all of us!
my coe was incomplete so I provided a new one with number of hours and which stated that i was full time. also, they wanted an english translation of my diploma. I submitted my application april 10, they received it april 20, they asked for additional reqts. may 10, I passed the said reqts. may 20. got my loe today. thank you Lord!

Hi kit! Where did you apply? :)
hello! did u pass your application in AHPRA-NSW? passed mine last june 2012 and my case officer said their decision will be given early July..argh! where did u take your bridging course? CONGRATS btw :)
Wow good for you that it will just take a month before their decision. In my case, I waited almost 3 months for my registration officer to contact me and ask for additional requirements and up to now still no decision. So be thankful that it will only take you 1 month unlike most of us here who are waiting for AHPRA-NSW for months and months now. But like everyone says here, patience is a virtue!
oh my typo error...i meant passed mine last June 2011, so apparently i've been waiting for a year now..yeah, our patience is indeed tested here...i just hope we get what we need despite the long waiting period. where u able to get in CON for the bridging course? coz i'm researching BP schools while waiting for July..

Hi you must try to contact your officer from time to time, i passed my application July 2011, got approved just 2 weeks ago so it took me 10 months. How come yours hasn't arrived yet and also to tell you, waiting doesn't stop there. If you're going to enroll at the college of nursing just like what i did, you need patience. Another suggestion, try to gather all documents needed for your school as early as possible :)

Hehe I thought you just applied recently. CON needs the LoE that's why we cant apply yet because they prioritize the ones who already have the LoE. Yes let's just be patient and pray. :)
