New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I also have the same question. I passed the reference letter and updated CV this May at AHPRA-WA. I hope things would go smoothly in our application.

It will take you another month before an update comes in again but that's not about the outcome yet :(

Cummulus. Thanks for the information. Don't get discouraged okey. :) I think IHNA assuring their students that August intake would be okey already means they are making it safe for all us to enroll. Australian School would not declare anything that will lead to an adverse future for their students because of all the legalities and they maintain credibility in all their dealings. I will go on with my application. What will you do?

BTW..:D how did you guys answer the following #s in 456 Visa Application?

#1 Over what period do you wish to visit Australia?

(for example Day 1 of my BP is on August 27, 2012 in IHNA)

(how many days before BP day 1 should i arrive in Australia?)

#21 Do you intend to enter a hospital or health care facility (including nursing homes) while in Australia?

(we are NOT ALLOWED TO WORK during the 3 MONTH DURATION right but we have clinical placements during the BP, so will i tick yes or no and what reason to put?)

And if you have any idea how many days, weeks or months can we receive registration from AHPRA after BP?

Thanks.. Thanks.. Thanks in Advance...

hello ilove83080..:w00t:

You can write the day you will arrive in Australia. If your BP starts on 27 August, you can fly 2-5 days before the commencement date so you can prepare everything especially you need to climatise with the bloody winter. But its really up to you if you want to be here earlier or just on time.

Secondly, You will tick under entering/working in a healthcare facility. Your reason is your clinical placement which is definitely part of your Bridging program.

And, the regular processing of the Registration is 4-6 weeks. However, there were many instances that applicants received their Registration on the 2nd - 3rd week after the school passed the documents. While small no. of the applicants received their registration after a month or within the 2nd month. As what i heard, Vic State has the fastest processing office, followed by NSW and WA. If it seems your taking so long in processing your registration (like 3 weeks already), you can email/call your case officer, the one who handled your application in Eligibility.

I hope i give light to your query.

God bless :nurse:

So when did you apply? What did they tell you exactly?
I asked the lady what are the chances to be selected for September intake coz I don't want to wait for next year. So she told me to provide my bank details, if I have the money there might be a chance. So its no assurance. I was about to submit my application but its good I found out they will be getting your money even if your in the waiting list. Have you tried MHTI? I submitted my app last week and will be interviewed this Thursday.
