Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

dear applicant,
hope you are doing well.
let me clarify your queries here, ihna has received an extension for the registration bridging program for overseas qualified nurses till 30th sept 2012.
ihna can offer seats to the students for the above said program in all the batches until 30th sept 2012, and the course will commence as scheduled.
hope i was able to satisfy your concerns here.

dear applicant,
as long as you are enrolled in any of the batches before 30th sept 2012, you will face no issues at the time of registration with ahpra.
we are already in process of gaining a renewal for registration bridging program, because the decision could not be made in time, anmac has provided us an extension till 30th sept 2012

guys,
.......
my personal take here is just to wait for ihna's re-accreditation, just like ilove83080's suggestion coz we are dealing with substantial money. --->
???
....let me know your thoughts on this, guys. but i really hope everything will turn out well whatever decision you will make.
cummulus that solves the problem.. if that is their message maybe its not wise to wait .. i think it means that their program will be extended until sept 30, 2012 so they might not offer it for a few months while re-accrediting or renewing. so if you will go for ihna it should be no later than august cos thats the slot ihna assured you.
anyway, you lucky bloke. you haven't paid the 1.5k yet so you have many options where to enroll.
Hi cheskaval, I emailed ***** regarding the COA and she told me COA will be issue soon. So we can lodge the visa with the offer letter instead of waiting for the COA? Do we need to wait for the embassy to inform us to do the medical? Thanks!
yes you can process your visa now with just your offer letter. but you cant do medicals yet because you have to wait until your case officer from the embassy tells you to do so.

hey ilove83080! if ever, i'll be in ihna's august intake and i'm giving myself ample time to decide on this. i didn't pay the 1.5k coz i really don't feel complacent about this transition. but i know ihna can wait to some extent only and if by then, i still don't have peace of mind, then i'll just have take the risk of letting go of my seat. but we'll see. i'll have to think this through still. thanks again :)
if its any consolation to the IHNA peeps, my endorsement is not actually from AHPRA..it is from the old council NMBWA, so long as you have a valid endorsement from any registering body then you can proceed with the BP..I understand your concerns about registration and all but its actually gonna be another registration process after the BP, if im not mistaken that is the real Registration for you to be considered as a Registered Nurse in Australia..

nah..no matter how long you wanted to prolong the prep time it would not guarantee that you'd be a 100% prepared..i have too much worries, about having to travel alone, in a place without relatives and all that :) and this e-learning course is making preparations harder..but im taking it a day at a time..nearly 2 weeks more..i am freaking out!

why don't you write to anmac instead to have more views. you said...you lined for august intake (ihna) so this:
does the accreditation extension covers only the period of the july intake (their whole 3 months july-august-september) or will it also cover those who enrolled in ihna before september 30 ends like august intake because you & we will finish our bridging course at november.
i wrote to both anmac & ahpra to inquire yesterday but didn't get any reply yet. anyway your post yesterday is ihna's answer to us.
i don't want to tell you what to choose cos off course i don't want to cause anyone any trouble cos these decision makings are unpredictable. but for myself, if anmac says the course is extended, it is extended. and i'm willing to decide base on what anmac will say about the accreditation cos they are the one in charge right now. ahpra will register us provided we enroll ourselves in accredited courses.

dear ihna,
good day!
thank you for this information.
if we're opting to be in the august batch, our bp will end within november. how will this validity of until september 30, 2012 affect our registration with ahpra since by this time, we are still undergoing the bp by then?
if it's not too much to ask, when will ihna's accreditation (transition) be renewed, and can this accreditation affect our registration with ahpra?

guys,
although ihna has honestly answered my inquiry, i can't help not to have peace of mind
my personal take here is just to wait for ihna's re-accreditation, just like ilove83080's suggestion coz we are dealing with substantial money. i haven't paid the 1500 for now and i wanted to make sure first. but i know ihna's just giving us 2 weeks after they sent us the offer letter to pay their initial 1500 fee, but i'm thinking twice now coz 1500 is still a big amount for me
if someone can talk to any recent ihna graduate to testify that everything worked out well for him/her and was able to get registered despite this, then maybe that's the time i'll have to reconsider.
but even if not paying 1500 to ihna means not getting a slot, i'd rather stick to the safer side than be sorry
i highly suggest guys that you try applying to other schools such as aaon, con, though the latter really has a long queue. we are risking a lot here, we can't be complacent with this!
let me know your thoughts on this, guys. but i really hope everything will turn out well whatever decision you will make.
