New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi everyone! i just received an email from irene today that the May intake for CON's assessment of competency program will commence inthe 25th of the said month...To those who are able to start their course, according to what youve experience...how long did you receive the visa letter after paying the course fee in full? should we keep on bugging them to give us such? please help...thanks heaps!
so the may intake is finalized already? That's good news! Did irene say if there are still slots for this intake?
I e-mailed them asking if there are still slots for April & july intake... But they still haven't replied yet... How long does it take them to reply to your e-mail? Or maybe I have the wrong e-mail address... Can you PM me the e-mail address that you use when inquiring them? thankss!

Hi! Their reply time varies greatly. I usually get a reply within 7 working days but sometimes, it may get delayed to up to 2 weeks or more. I'm sorry but I still don't have the PM feature of allnurses. You can PM me instead and I think my reply will go through. (but I can't personally initially send a PM to other members since I still haven't got the minimum required number of posts or something like that... teehee!)

ben, how are you? i can't find you here. i got my eligibility letter. oh i wanna thank you for giving me the brochure. i went to that company Australian Nursing Requirements Inc.)and they were the one who processed my application for the initial registration.they were a big help. they guided me through(preparing the AHPRA docs and they screened those before they sent it to Australia.

UPDATE.UPDATE.UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!

I just spoke to AHPRA-SA, they told me that they assess applications like in 2-3 months up to 6 months(max) depending on the complexity of the application and compliance to added documents. And I asked how to transfer documents from WA-SA. she told me some can be accessed in their data base while some needed to be posted. you can email the case officer if you want to transfer. they said they had FEW applicants but they are managing it quite well. any takers???

BTW..

they said they said SA and WA are the fastest states to assess. regarding the post about AHPRA-NSW. their timeline usually is 8 months up to 14months.. they are the slowest state... not sure about NT, TAS, or VIC.

Hi! Do you already have a place to stay in Sydney? When are you planning to go there?

I'm planning to go this April 18th,,,, I think i will be staying with my sister.. I dont have extra money for the accommodation near burwood. She's also in sydney, so it will be much cheaper on my side.
