New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

thanks fornthe info jackfields,i just paid them last friday and im also about to submit my pending requirements... :))
ill call them if their timeline is still the same. if so. i would ask for documents to be transferred to SA. because its been 5 months since you applied anything can happen in that. like WA few months ago they are the fastest and then the next they are full of documents.

Please do let us know once you called SA. Many thanks!

hi! i got my loe roughly after 8 months of lodging my application. it took it that long even if i personally lodged it while i was still in australia. and throughout that time, i kept on bombarding them with questions about the status of my application (calling thru their hotline, emails, and personally going to their office). it was really a stressful time for me since i was not sure if i would get it in time (before my student isa expires). i don't want you to get discouraged from applying in ahpra nsw but i have a good friend from work (i worked as an ain) who is also a filipino rn who still haven't got his loe. i think he's been waiting for one whole year now.

OMG, I think I'm going to cry now:sniff:...8 months? 1 year? Why are they taking so long? I wish a miracle happens and they just give away those LOEs...

I really have no idea. But from what I hear, the NSW office has the longest processing time. This is just a generalization. I also know of a Nepali RN (who is already a permanent resident of Australia) who got hers after 8 months. For those who had good experiences with AHPRA NSW, please do share your stories. I think the WA office had the fastest processing time a few months ago. However, there were some reports that it is now taking them longer than before due to overwhelming number of applications. Maybe all RNs were thinking of the same thing and lodged their application with WA hence the longer processing time at present.
