New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hia guys,

Hi Vanessa,

Any update on your documents? I was assigned to a new Case Officer:confused:.

Now I am wondering if she is going to start all over again reviewing my papers or does that mean that my paper has passed previous stage of screening (if ever there is such thing).

@AILA . . .I received that kind of email too. . .

@STEFFI_PIE and ELIYEL . . .I'm from PHILMAN, I have a lot of friends who are now working as registered nurses in Australia because of PHILMAN'S assistance. . .I think there offer is reasonable . .It is still a personal choice whether you will ask for their help or not . . . The loan is flexible, and they give extra time for the applicants to pay their debts . . . .

I came up with this based on some of the posts in this forum, the AHPRA website and help from friends. I'm not saying that you should follow this as a prescription for your application but merely a guide that could assist you. Please feel free to call my attention if I posted anything wrong. I hope that other people won't get mad that I posted these information, just trying to help out. Anyway, most of what I included here are posted all over this forum. This is just like a summary. Ok, I'm starting to sound too defensive. Haha! Good luck and may God bless each and everyone of you! :)

As regards to the cost of "notary public"you can always haggle with the P100 to about P50.

@ladydee-rn and vanessa - just want you guys to know that I already received the email stating that my documents are for final approval already! :) any news regarding your LOEs? at least i know how more days I should count before I receive my LOE. :)

@vanessa did your sister already receive this email too?

I emailed my case officer this morning, and she replied that they have high volume of applications awaiting for final approval. . . They can't give a definite time frame on when it will be approved . .I think addyhottie had posted that she waited for 6 weeks before she received her LOE through email . .

Good day everyone..

I have been reading this thread for a long time, but I have not yet gone to the middle part of it..If you don't mind I have a very long list of question, can anyone pls help me.Your kind hearts are very apprreciated!

I attended a free orientation by Philman yesterday, where they are a consultancy firm w/c partnered w/ a Micro-finance company that would give a loan to nurses who would wish to take a BP in Oz.

This is what they said on their orientation

Philman would be helping us in following up w/our requirements for AHPRA..They would pay for the P20,000 assessment fee if we could complete our requirements 30 days from now, but if we can't meet the deadline we have to pay for our assessment..Upon receiving AHPRA's approval letter then comes in The Finance company who would be giving the loan..

We would be in 456 visa when we would enter Oz

here's the rough estimate of what loan they would offer

P60,000 - fare (round trip ticket and return fare)

P150,000 - food & lodging

P150,000 - visa process

P500,000 - tuition fee

for my fellow nurses who are in aus, are these amount really sufficient for my whole stay there for 3 months?

They said that we would be paying the loan after we get a job, but they didn't state how much the interest rate would be.

Is it true that after the 3 months BP, there are no exams/tests that would be given?

They said that because we are in 456 visa when we enter in Aus, we need to exit and go back to philippines for 2 weeks and then return back to Australia after, cause it only takes 2 weeks to apply for a nursing job in australia? is this true?

To all of those who are knowledgeable about these, please I really need your help..I wanted to go to Australia since year 2009, but due to financial constraints I opted to stay and work here in the Philippines..The loan is like a good offer, but do you think I can trust Philman before signing any contract..Please give me feedbacks, I really need your help..

God bless your kind hearts and Have a great day...

Is it true that after the 3 months BP, there are no exams/tests that would be given?------different schools have different schemes of evaluating their students if there are no examinations or any evaluation tool to be used to students then how will they know that you are fit to pass the training?

They said that because we are in 456 visa when we enter in Aus, we need to exit and go back to philippines for 2 weeks and then return back to Australia after, cause it only takes 2 weeks to apply for a nursing job in australia? is this true?----------------------------

You need to ask them for any evidence of this particular claim. What they actually told you was" 2 weeks to apply for a nursing job" and not "get a job".. they are different things....

hi @aila61! I was following the threads here and was looking for someone who's on the same situation with me. I believe that you applied in AHPRA-WA last december under philman? Am i right? Because I just lodged my application last January to WA, also under philman, and it's bogging since I just received an email from the case officer telling me that she has to reach my applications yet. she hasn't started the processing of my papers. But it took you only 2 months to get an email saying that your papers are for final approval now. Do you have a Bp school already? Can I ask for your email address if you dont mind? I hope I can get updates from you. Thank you in advance =D
hi! september - november 2011 applicants of AHPRA-WA experienced a looooonnngg waiting time i think because of the holidays last December. After the september applicants got processed already, its now moving faster. However, they haven't received their approval letters yet, meaning even though my papers are for final approval already, I believe that it would take me more weeks before I could receive my LOE. I don't have a BP school yet but I would really want to go to CON this May. :)

Aila,

my sister got her email too. ahpra wa got her application dec 28. when did you send yours?

Goodluck to us!

hi vanessa! ahpra got mine dec. 20! any news on your approval letter yet?

Does Philman also help with employment? if they state in 2 weeks you have job offer...

Does Philman also help with employment? if they state in 2 weeks you have job offer...

My friend had to apply for a job on his own. Basing on that, I doubt that Philman helps with employment.

They have made claims on their Facebook that nurses they have helped are earning extensively more than 2.5million pesos they state nurses earn here.

going on today's rate that is 50,000 fair enough but 150 percent on this and even 200percent claim, which on 2.5 pesos is 100,000 Australian dollars which is not possible for an RN working wards in a public hospital not alone private.Around 50,000 to 65,000 au would be acceptable. Then do not forget the tax which will be quite high if not a pr or citizen.Y
