Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

For those who are planning to take their BP at ETEA, is the tuition fee already 16000 aus dollars? I checked their application form and that's what written there. I believe before it was 14k only.
I enrolled last Aug and paid Aus $11,900 (This amt was stated on the application form). But some of my classmates paid 14k. Some also 16k.
I guess it's the law of supply and demand. Huge demand now I guess.
No worries rchanp. I am scheduled for June 4 intake in IHNA Perth and still processing my business visa 456. I suggest wait for you confirmation of Admission (they will release this after you pay the enrollment fee) since they will give you Vaccination Declaration (this is like a checklist on what vaccines you already had and they will just ask for a certification of it or vaccines that you need to comply) but if you re rush'n with time for your intake then just p.m me so I can send you the copy of vaccination declaration so you have Idea on what vaccines you need to comply. hope this helps. Godbless!
-- Thank God.! I just received my offer letter last night :) I am for the 2nd of April intake.. hope things to go smoothly when applying for my visa.. :) I should now move and have my vaccinations be done..
Good day everyone..I have been reading this thread for a long time, but I have not yet gone to the middle part of it..If you don't mind I have a very long list of question, can anyone pls help me.Your kind hearts are very apprreciated!
I attended a free orientation by Philman yesterday, where they are a consultancy firm w/c partnered w/ a Micro-finance company that would give a loan to nurses who would wish to take a BP in Oz.
This is what they said on their orientation
Philman would be helping us in following up w/our requirements for AHPRA..They would pay for the P20,000 assessment fee if we could complete our requirements 30 days from now, but if we can't meet the deadline we have to pay for our assessment..Upon receiving AHPRA's approval letter then comes in The Finance company who would be giving the loan..
We would be in 456 visa when we would enter Oz
here's the rough estimate of what loan they would offer
P60,000 - fare (round trip ticket and return fare)
P150,000 - food & lodging
P150,000 - visa process
P500,000 - tuition fee
for my fellow nurses who are in aus, are these amount really sufficient for my whole stay there for 3 months?
They said that we would be paying the loan after we get a job, but they didn't state how much the interest rate would be.
Is it true that after the 3 months BP, there are no exams/tests that would be given?
They said that because we are in 456 visa when we enter in Aus, we need to exit and go back to philippines for 2 weeks and then return back to Australia after, cause it only takes 2 weeks to apply for a nursing job in australia? is this true?
To all of those who are knowledgeable about these, please I really need your help..I wanted to go to Australia since year 2009, but due to financial constraints I opted to stay and work here in the Philippines..The loan is like a good offer, but do you think I can trust Philman before signing any contract..Please give me feedbacks, I really need your help..
God bless your kind hearts and Have a great day...
I would like to address some of your concerns based on my experience here in Aussie so far... 1st: I attended CON, and what happens is that we have practicals, some sort of return demonstration for specific procedures such as administering medications. We have to pass 100% of the drug calculation exam before we can proceed with our clinical placement. During the entire duration of our placement in the area, we will be assessed by an assessor of we are competent and safe to practice nursing here in Aussie. If all goes well, the school with then prepare our papers to be submitted to AHPRA for our registration.
2nd: Job hunting really depends on you, your luck, and faith in God. I have friends here who told me that they were able to get a job even before the program ended, others took them few weeks or worst months... The key here is to keep the faith and at the same time doing something on your end to achieve what you are praying for.
Hi jayvincible!
This is Invanz. I am finishing the IRON at La Trobe next month and I am in search now for an employer to sponsor a working visa.
Which hospital are you working now in Sydney? Can I contact you because i have clarifications for the working visa processing?
Thank you.
Hi also to Bobby 123!
Do you know of any hospital in Adelaide or SA that offers sponsorship to candidates like me?
Thanks.
It seems like most of you are on 456 visa.. Is there anyone here who have taken or is applying for a student visa? I'm kinda anxious right now.. My course will commence on 3rd of April and I haven't lodged my student visa application yet because I'm still waiting for my confirmation of enrollment in UniSA.. Or anyone here scheduled on April with UniSA? ..... :)
