New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hello markchester,

If I read it right, I would suggest you go to the Australian consulate and ask them the accredited Arabic translator as well as their list of lawyers who are legit to notarize all your documents. I think Khobar has an Australian consulate. Try to check.

Is this for me? Anyhow, thanks for that helpful suggestion. Will try to contact the nearest consulate here.

Hi petercharleszarate,

I was trying to answer a previous query and he is from Khobar as well. Oh, I'm glad to know that quite a few who are working here in the kingdom are planning to go to OZ. I am as well trying to gather information as I have just started my Australian journey.

Q1: Yes, we need to have our PRC and Saudi Council license forwarded to OZ.

Q2: Yes, we need the police clearance from Saudi Arabia for the last 6months stay. I have asked some of my colleagues here in Jeddah and they are willing to help me get through this. I am quite apprehensive because it is not easy to go out since I am a female.

CranberryJuice,

What have you accomplished so far in your application?, if you don't mind me asking.

Im still in the process of researching the needed documents and planning a strategy to process the paperwork because, as you are now experiencing, it is quite hard for us to process both registrations mainly because of the fact that we need other people to do it in behalf of us to complete our Philippine qualifications.

I am also still on the process of gathering information though I'm already scheduled to take the IELTS exam. Luckily though, I will be going home for my annual vacation in April and I will be using my time to finish everything.

Wow nice, good for you, do we need both our passport and iqama in order to apply for IELTS? Or we can only show either of the two?

To our fellow nurses here please have patience on my queries because it is hard for us here in Saudi to even request for our passports as our employers are the ones holding them while we are here.

I hope that these information will help other Filipino nurses working here in Saudi who wants to pursue Austalia in the future.

Many Thanks.

As what I have read from the British Council website, they only need a copy of your passport and your residence permit (iqama). Check their website. I am not sure though if you need to authenticate both IDs. I assumed you're working in a private hospital?

I am working in a government hospital and if i need my passport for a few days, I can always get it. Some of my colleagues have traveled to neighboring countries like Egypt, Bahrain, UAE (Dubai) without any glitches. It seems to me that you will be having problems if your employer will not let you hold your passport as you will need it for your Australian visa.

I just emailed my case officer once to keep me updated. The last email i received is that its for final approval. Is that good news? I just kept praying everyday that my papers will be assessed faster..

Hey guys, what type of visa did you apply for before doing the BP? Student, 456, or tourist? And why did you choose that over the other types?

Yeah, I am working in one of the biggest private hospital here in the Eastern Province.

My collegues told me that I can request my passport for official purposes such as taking the IELTS through our HR Department.

Already talked to my Nurse Manager here and informed me that he is willing to give me a day-off to take the exam.

My 2-year contract here will end by February next year, so I am cautiously planning my strategy given a 1-year timeframe for me to do everything I can with the process, because when all goes well, I dont want to stay for too long waiting in the Phil when I am done here.

Do you have a sample CV I can use as a guide?
