Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

OEC - Overseas Employment CertificateAll OFW's are required to get it from POEA whether you were directly hired by a foreign employer or you went through a local recruitment agency.
Since I will be using my 457 visa in leaving the Philippines for Australia, I am required to show the OEC together with my visa upon exit at NAIA.
I have to attend the PDOS seminar next Tuesday at the OWWA and will be issued the certificate of attendance at the end of the day.
I will submit the certificate together with a copy of my contract, passport, visa to the POEA together with a payment of P7,500.00 in order to get the OEC.
You can google the details of the OEC as well as its benefits for us OFW's.
Thanks!
@toff: Im not sure about debit card. Why not call up the school you intend of applying.
@wonder_wall: same boat. If only my IELTS will not expire in May. bummer. Try William Light Institute, it's not official but they told me that it will be sometime in June.
Everyone, re applications. What qualification do we gain from secondary studies/High School? I just don't know what to write.
Thanks for the reply.

I'm not applying for a bp yet. I'm referring to the assessment and application fees of AHPRA. Maybe debit card is ok as long as it is affiliated to mastercard or visa, I hope...
By the way, how much did you guys pay during your application to AHPRA? Do different provinces charge different registration fees?

William Institute in South Australia is under University of Ballarat. that was where my friend took her BP and luckily she got hired at the hospital where she did her clinicals. She had 0 hospital experience by the way and she was placed in the ICU! :)
@toffzter: oops. Wasn't reading thoroughly. hihi. I'm not sure how much I paid. I forgot. Sorry.@aila61: wow! she's one lucky nurse! Imagine assigned in the special area with no experience. Thanks for the heads up!:)
