New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Does anyone have any idea whether the Subject which is written in a language other than English have to be translated?

I have a Spanish class and the course description was written in it too.I tried to ask my university to have it translated but they refused!

Hi all. Regarding SOS, is it really necessary to write the job description? To those who were approved, please help. Thanks a million.

Hi jydd,

i suggest you read cioman94's post in page 1 of this thread as he gave an overview of what could be included in statement of service. :D

Do u already have their offer letter? How long did u wait?

I think I waited for about five months before receiving the offer letter...I lodged my application in AHPRA Victoria.

How about you?

Hi, I had a mandatory Filipino class in college that didn't have anything to do with Nursing. It was written in Filipino in the course description, I just left it as is since it had nothing to do with Nursing. They're only after the nursing subjects. I hope this helps.

Hi offer letter you mean eligibility from Ahpra?

Specializes in ER/ Radiology Nurse.
First of all I am disappointed at AHPRA. I sent my application to Melbourne Victoria in July 2011. I arrived here in Australia at September 2011 since my husband lives here and guess what, when I went to their office personally.. they haven't assessed it yet when in fact it has been more than 2 months and my friend who sent her application in West Australia got her eligibility letter from AHPRA WA when in fact we both sent it on the same month. The difference was she sent it to WA and I sent it to Melbourne.

So I decided to have it transfer to AHPRA in West Australia coz I was hoping that it would be faster there, it got there on November 1 and it is already January 13, 2012 and no news yet. They told me my documents are all complete and on its way to final approval but still there is no eligibility letter yet. I am planning to go to Deakin University in Melbourne but the deadline for their May intake is on the last week of January. huhuhu. HELP!!!

hi! when i inquired about my application to AHPRA WA last week they told me that they are still processing applications submitted last September 2011. Last week of december, they told me that the applications submitted last August 2011 were the ones being processed. Hope this helps!

Hi guys! Can we make a list for those who are going to LTU this May 2012? It would be nice to get to know each other before we leave for the bridging program... :)1. blue_bunnie

I hope I can be the 6th or 7th (since adyhottie will be the 6th) person for LTU. hehe

I rang Deakin and the person on the line was so kind. I asked if I can submit my application even if my IELTS will expire before the commencement date. Unfortunately, she told me that I really need to re-sit the exam. Oh well. Im rushing through my IELTS here. I am crossing my fingers that when I'll pass the IELTS this February they still have an available position for me.

God bless to us all :)
