Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
hi guys! i have been following this thread for months and had just submitted my application to ahpra last week.. i would just like to ask what state process faster? are your submitted TOR original copies? thanks
hi kringkring. It used to be WA but that's not the case now. I don't know which state now process applications faster. I think more and more overseas nurses are now targetting Australia leaving them a lot of papers to look into.
I believe that's what blue_bunnie meant.opps. Scratch that, offer letter means the letter from your school that you passed their assessment.
hi, oh so let's say after Aphra approval and you apply for a school it actually takes MONTHS for the school to approve your application?i thought the Eligibility letter is the one that will take so much time.
So sorry for the confusion...by offer letter, i mean the eligibility letter. Wrong word used. So, after receiving the LOE, I applied for LTU and WLI. I got the offer letter from LTU for this May intake, then I applied for student visa and got approved after 2 weeks.I see that there's several of us who'll be going to LTU. Do you guys like to form a group on FB or something for easy communication and sharing of updates? :)
Hi, how many months did you get approved after you applied to the school?
Hello cummulus and glitzdelight!I haven't done my mantoux test yet however, I have inquired from pulmo and pedia doctors for this. Will do this probably a month after receiving MMR 2 as it is adviced that MMR and mantoux should be done at least 4-6 weeks apart.Hope that helps:)
had my mantox test from my hospital (TBDOTS) , they give certificates. would this be enough proof im "negative" with mantoux? anyone who has an idea?
So you already have a student visa? you applied directly with the embassy? because if you applied via online, we would not be eligible yet because the online application would only accept applications within 124 days of the commencement of the BP.In essence, May 25 is the starting date of BP for LTU so we would only be eligible to apply via online this coming January 23, 2012, I think.
I didn't apply via online. I sent my documents directly to the embassy instead. The funny thing though, was that I already did my medical exam last October 2011 before submitting my visa application late December. So, I was really worried that the embassy would make me undergo again another medical exam...Hahahaha... Good thing that they didn't! I got my visa 11th of January.
hi aila . .did u call ahpra to get this information?. . i emailed my case officer but she told me that there is no definite time for the assessment . . when did you pass your application? .. i passed mine to ahpra-wa last week of september. . i am still waiting for my aphra eligibility letter .. .
hi ladydee! here's a copy of their email:

[color=#454545]please be advised that your application has not been started yet.

- sent last january 12, 2012
i could not find their email last december but during that time they said that their processing applications sent last august 2011. this was not my case officer, i sent an inquiry via ahpra website.

You're so lucky!!! I hate it that my IELTS will expire already on May. But it will still expire on May 10 and from what I read the class will not start yet til the 25th. Therefore, it will expire before the commencement of the class.
So sad. so sad. I really want to join you guys, at least I will not be alone.
