Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hello. I am also aiming for Deakin Uni but the deadline for their intake is next week. Where are u located! I am still waiting for my letter from Ahpra which I rang them and told me to wait for 3 more weeks.I hope I can be the 6th or 7th (since adyhottie will be the 6th) person for LTU. heheI rang Deakin and the person on the line was so kind. I asked if I can submit my application even if my IELTS will expire before the commencement date. Unfortunately, she told me that I really need to re-sit the exam. Oh well. Im rushing through my IELTS here. I am crossing my fingers that when I'll pass the IELTS this February they still have an available position for me. God bless to us all :)

Hello adyhottie. I'm from Zamboanga. Indeed, Deakin Uni application deadline is next week but if they still have a slot they are more than welcome to receive applications, that's what the lady told me a while ago.
3 weeks! Aww. I think we're on the same boat. My Ielts exam will be on Feb 8 (so that's approximately 3 weeks too).
So sorry for the confusion...by offer letter, i mean the eligibility letter. Wrong word used. So, after receiving the LOE, I applied for LTU and WLI. I got the offer letter from LTU for this May intake, then I applied for student visa and got approved after 2 weeks.
I see that there's several of us who'll be going to LTU. Do you guys like to form a group on FB or something for easy communication and sharing of updates? :)

So you already have a student visa? you applied directly with the embassy? because if you applied via online, we would not be eligible yet because the online application would only accept applications within 124 days of the commencement of the BP.
In essence, May 25 is the starting date of BP for LTU so we would only be eligible to apply via online this coming January 23, 2012, I think.
hi! when i inquired about my application to AHPRA WA last week they told me that they are still processing applications submitted last September 2011. Last week of december, they told me that the applications submitted last August 2011 were the ones being processed. Hope this helps!

I believe that's what blue_bunnie meant.
opps. Scratch that, offer letter means the letter from your school that you passed their assessment.
