New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

anyone who already has a personal accident insurance?

where and how did you apply?

how much is it?

thanks

Hi everyone..

I just would like to ask a few questions. I'm still trying to fill up the application form for ahpra and I kind of got confused on the part where they asked for an authorisation agent since I'm doing all these by myself. Can i just leave it blank? :) And what did they by asking if my residential address is the same as my principal place of practice in Australia?

Thank you guys for the enlightenment. It's amazing that today I received the Eligibility letter, and i called up my friend he received the same letter. So i'll be waiting now for the snail mail. If i traced back,my friends received their notice of acceptance email Nov 22 and eligibility letter was emailed Jan 11,12. So that is about 1 month and 2 weeks? it's so fast >.

@ds42

unfortunately i can't PM you cause i still have less than 15 post in this forum.

It's good that you have already sent you application. I hope and pray both of us get accepted.

Regarding CON, I think the tuition is about 11-12k while Deakin's only 9995 and La trobe is about 9900+80 application fee.

hi babsinc,

Were you interviewed by LTU before you got accepted? Do they require specific vaccinations?

thank you.

No. I think they don't have interview. Yes, they require vaccinations. The vaccination list comes with the offer letter if i remember it right.. :)

Hi Leey, im nervous already but did your friend received his/her eligibility notice even if she/he didnt received the notice of receipt email?

yup she received her eligibility letter without the notice of receipt. However it will be better to email them just so you will know if there are still lacking documents that you need to submit (i.e course outline)

thank you babsinc ^_^

The situation really is that you need to present a STATEMENT OF SERVICE as opposed to an employment certificate. It is fine to have worked as a volunteer but you in fact worked as a Registered Nurse on a voluntary basis. Australia does not recognize the term volunteer nurse. The statement of service must state that you worked there from this date to that date a total of x hours as a Registered Nurse and these were the duties that you performed. As long as the duties performed are the duties of a Registered Nurse then that is OK. Hope that I have been of some help to you all.

Your IELTS must be academic and you must get at least 7 in all bands and not an average.

Hi guys!

Would like to ask if would you recommend I go through an agency or just do the processing for AHPRA by myself?

@ds42

i think it takes 3-6 days before you can receive an email from deakin...as for la trobe haha you should not have waived the application fee - so they can immediately assess your paper. >.

yes, deakin is my target school cause it is near my friend's house. so, if it is just a walking distance i can walk or run to save money(wink >.
