New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

All the answers to your questions can be answered if you try to read from the first page of this thread, you will also know the latest changes and updates as well. With regards to choosing a school to apply, it's all up to you. You can apply to as many schools you want. There's a list of schools offering BP (if that's what your aiming) posted here. Try scanning the pages to find it. Yes, there's a long list of schools, but if your too lazy to research on each one of them then you can use random.org and let it generate the school for you. Cheers! :)

I have a friend who thinks she is pregnant. She has been granted eligibility to do BP recently. Do you think DIAC will grant her a visa provided she has all the necessary documentation? Has anybody with a similar case?

I remember reading something about waiving the x-ray for the medicals If they're pregnant, and being pregnant doesn't pose a risk to other people so she shouldn't have a problem. Although she might want to limit exposure to viruses/hospital exposure during BP early on in her pregnancy right?

Called La Trobe just a few minutes ago to ask for updates regarding my application for their IRON PROGRAM and unfortunately the lady told me that January intake is already full since 40 people paid fully their tuition fees.

She instructed me to email her if in case I wanted to be considered for their May intake but I told her I'll think about it since my IELTS and LOE will soon be expiring.:crying2:

I've asked her if is there any chance to be considered for January intake but then again to my dismay, no chance at all since all of them paid their tuition fees.

Anyways, I called AAON to enquire if their January intake for IRON Program is already full and the lady told me that students are still coming, and they are still accepting applications. Tuition fee is 11thou AUD though. :) Not bad still much cheaper compared to other schools.

So might be considering AAON now, hope and pray to get a slot for their January intake. :) :) :)

Who is coming with me, lemme know guys. :) :) :)

Thanks!

Hi! Did you submit your application at AAON? :) How was it?

Hi! Did you submit your application at AAON? :) How was it?

Still waiting for their response though :crying2:

I also had problem with LTU, i used wire transfer so they received the payment late. Others got the slot. Im taking my chances on may now. How bout the others? Let me know if someone will do their bp at ltu on may. Good luckfor those who'll have it on january!

Hi there!

I also received an e-mail from them and sent them the documents they were asking. I just want to ask if your AHPRA letter is already a certified true copy? Because I think you need to submit the letter duly authenticated by a lawyer. For the visa thing, you can just send them the certified scanned copy of your passport.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! They also asked me to submit my vaccination proofs. Have you already send them yours?

I don't understand....My agency told me that ANMC accepted my credentials to enroll in a BP course even though my IELTS is 6.5...even a friend of mine who is in Australia told me that IELTS is not needed as long as your medium of teaching in secondary and tertiary is English. So, I decided to pursue and enroll in BP course, I will just wait for my eligibility from ANMC.

My questions are:

1. How come ANMC required an IELTS of 7 when they are accepting applicants below 7?

2. Can we still get a job after the bridging course?

I hope those who are done with their BP even if their IELTS is below 7 or not have yet taken the exam and successfully working in Australia can enlighten us about this...

I might be enrolling this December or January.

Thank you

AHPRA or Australian nursing and midwifery council still requires at least 7 in each modules, AHPRA accepted your application because you provided a certificate that your studies were undertaken using English, that was the alternative English requirement other than IELTS and OET. This has been removed recently.

All Bridging providers that I applied to required IELTS of 7 each module. I suggest you re-sit again to avoid complications and dealys in the future. :twocents:
