Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

If anybody knows ETEA asking IELTS score or not .thanks
Yes they do, as part of their required documentation you need to provide them a certified copy of your IELTS result. http://www.etea.edu.au/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=file&id=67:ircon-application-form
Hai MhaiCan you tell me ETEA asking IELTS or not .I applied and waiting for there offer from last month
thanks
Yes, i think they require IELTS.. but i do have friends who studied aged care in australia and they just submitted a certificate from the school that the curriculum was taught in english and they got accepted.. We'll be classmates this october..... You can try doing that if u want... but i really suggest you take and pass the IELTS requirements..
Good morning nurses especially to Cioman94,,:)
yes sir i did read on that website and follow its instruction, however in the middle of my reading, there is a note says (Nursys.com)
"Currently, Nursys® is only available to boards of nursing located in the United States and its territories. Please contact your board to request verification."
So, i just sent my BON-New Mexico a letter of Inquiry regarding my Verification Request Form. It is been almost a week that im waiting for their reply.
I tried to post my query here, hoping someone had a problem before about this, then i could just ask how did they request a form.
Anyway, Thank you for the suggestions sir.

God bless you
Hi makikay_rn!
The best thing you can do is call your board of nursing re:license verification. As for my case, I sent an email and then called up the office. They told me to submit a letter requesting for the verification to be forwarded to AHPRA office. I also attached my payment for them to process the whole thing. After a month, I received a confirmation from AHPRA VIC that they received my verification both from Philippines and Saipan.
Hope that helps:)
Hi!Has anyone here submitted their application in AHPRA VIC? May I ask how many days/weeks before you have heard any updates from them? (that they have received your documents, etc.) And do they inform you for updates through email only? TIA. God bless
Hi there!
Did you pass your docs to AHPRA VIC? It actually differs from one person to another. Here's my timeline...
June 24 2011 - Sent my documents to AHPRA VIC
July 8 2011 - AHPRA VIC sent me receipt of application thru email
July 27 2011 - AHPRA VIC sent another email re: Overseas Preliminary Assessment (I was also given a reference number)
Hope that answered your questions.
Hi everyone,I just got my IELTS test results online ( I took it July 30). I passed!!!! Whehew!!!! And I just got an offer from AAON for their sept intake. They still have to assess the documents I submitted. Still lack some vaccinations though. I'm trying to finish everything by tomorrow so I can email the rest of the docs immediately. I hope I still have time to finish all the necessary preparations before classes start on Sept 8. One step closer to my ozzie dream.
Isingrn, I hope we can be classmates.
:clown:
HOW did you send your documents to AAON? Did you have the copies lawyer certified first before scanning them and be sent online or hardcopies sent via courier?

All the required docs are plainly listed in the checklist provided together with the application form. You scan all the supporting docs together with the filled up application form and email them back to AAON. You can choose to send through courier but the additional cost is unnecessary. And besides, the courier will take time for the parcel to be delivered. The number of days for the documents to arrive at AAON may spell the difference in getting a slot because the waitlist is on a first come first served basis.
I have IELTS but I got 6.5 in writing.. IHNA let me apply in their institution despite the 6.5 score. I don't know what other school will let me apply eventhough i didnt meet the minimum 7 score in each module of IELTS..
I don't understand... do you have the AHPRA eligibility letter already? Or were you able to get the AHPRA letter without the IELTS Test Report Form? If so, you can apply with IHNA or CON or any other bp school.
But getting working visa from DIAC is another case. I still don't know if some of the past forumers here were able to go through DIAC without a current, unexpired IELTS TRF. Can anyone in this forum attest to this?
In my opinion, it's best to have taken and passed the IELTS test. Saves you a lot of anxieties. Speaking and writing in English is a "SKILL". There's no reason for a person not to be able to get the minimum scores eventually. The key here is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and PRACTICE. I'm now sounding like a broken record but I really do believe in this. I know a lot of colleagues that were able to eventually pass the test after 3 or 4 tries. You can take the test for as many times as you like. The test is not rocket science after all. All the questions and topics are practical in nature that only need your common sense and practical answers. You just have to be organized in delivering your essay.

Thanks for the advice! That helped a lot. By the way, I already have my eligibility letter from AHPRA eventhough I dont have IELTS (just submitted cert of medium of instruction). My plan is this: I wanted to secure first a slot for BP and acquire the business visa before ill have my IELTS retake (for the working visa or just to make sure about things when i will be in OZ). Hopefully, I can secure a January or Feb intake of BP next year.
Can you recommend a school for me joiemike aside from IHNA? :sofahider
